No sound on my computer how do i turn it back on with the keyboard

If you hover the mouse pointer over the little speaker in the bottom right corner and right click you can turn it on from there. Or open the control panel and look in the Audio section you can turn the sound on from there. With out seeing your keyboard I can only suggest you look for a key with a little speaker with a line through it. you may also need to press the "Fn" key or the "Alt" key at the same time.

How to install riser card compaq evo

Finding a compatible graphics cards may be a daunting task if you know little about your computer's components and technical specifications. To find a video card that is compatible with your system, you'll need to uncover information about your motherboard and power supply by opening your case and peeking inside. From there, you can perform additional research and make an informed determination of the types of graphics cards compatible with your computer. If your warranty is still in place, consult your computer manufacturer or builder to obtain the information you need Physically open your case and examine the number and types of slots on your motherboard. Unplug any cables connected to your computer prior to removing the side panel, but make a note of where your monitor connects. Remove your case's left side panel (when facing the front of the case). You may need to remove screws or to adjust latches. Please see your case or computer manual if you are unsure how to remove the side panel. Locate the current graphics card. By matching the port your monitor plugs into with the graphics card, you should be able to easily locate your video card. If you have an on-board graphics chip, the monitor will not connect with a card but with ports directly on the motherboard. Measure your case interior and the card slot. Make a note of how long the current card is. You must also measure for prospective maximum expansion card length. For example, if you measure 7.5 inches from the slot cover to the nearest obstruction (obstructions may include other slots, chips, or the processor), you will not be able to buy a card that measures 8.5 inches in length. The card you install must not affect any other components on the motherboard. Write down any brand name or model number so that you can verify the measurements by researching the card's specifications. Locate a serial number, brand name or product number for your motherboard and write it down so that you can research the motherboard and its specifications. Locate your power supply. Generally, the power supply will be in the upper-left corner of the case. Power cables connected to your drives, your motherboard and possibly your video card will run to the power cable. Make a note of the wattage, the brand name, and any model number. Perform research to verify the power supply's specs. Replace the side panel, and plug in all cables. Find a graphics card that will work with your motherboard and power supply and fit the motherboard's measurements. The card should both fit into the slot physically and be designed for the type of slot on your computer. Ensure that the card has drivers for your operating system. Hope this helps.http://www.4allmemory.com/video-card/compaq-hp-evo-d510-series/

Why does my computer make a loud whirring sound

Could be either one of the cooling fans or CD/DVD drive. Put your hand on the outside of the disc drive, if it isn't vibrating then it's a system fan. Replace it.

Uatx motherboard in mini atx case

Probably however if you upgrade the motherboard you will have to upgrade the CPU, and the memory, possibly the hard drive if the old board is IDE and the new is sata. Also you would have to upgrade the power supply if it's so old it may not have sata power connectors.

I just finished installing Win 8 on a Compaq evo ultra slim after restarting I get error code 0x0000005d what can I do , is my motherboard not compatible its a pentium 4

Go to BIOS, find option 'Data Execution Prevention', and enable it. Moreover, enable option called 'Virtualization Technology (VT)' feature, in a case; you are trying to install Windows 8 from virtualization software like oracle or VMWare.

How to enable above option

To enter in BIOS, restart computer and on very first screen find a message like this:

'DEL to enter setup'

'Press Esc to Enter Setup'

'BIOS Configuration: F2'

'F10 to Enter Setup'

Carefully find any message on your screen and press respective key to enter in BIOS.

Once you enter in BIOS setting, go to Advanced Options and select Processor then No Execute Memory Protection, if not, then Security > Options and Select Execute Disable. Change this to 'Enable' or 'On'.

Save changes and Exit Bios Setting if you perform Windows 8 installation in a new PC, otherwise move on to next step

Enable Virtualization Technology (VT) feature

Go to BIOS setting by following above-mentioned steps. Go to Performance options. Change the Virtualization feature to 'Enable' or 'On'. Save changes and Exit BIOS setup. Proceed to next step if your system supports the security feature. This is how you can solve the issue.

Compaq evo no enciende

google translated Compaq Evo will not start

Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/f/powersupplytest.htm

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU. Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink. hope this helps

Why is my computer shutting down suddenly

A computer that turns off without warning is often a heat related issue. Many computers today are designed to turn off or automatically reboot if the computer, processor, or other device in your computer gets too hot. If you have heard any abnormal noises coming from your computer recently such as a high squealing, this could indicate a fan may be failing in your computer. You can first start by verifying the fan on the power supply is working by examining the back of the computer and seeing if the fan is moving and moving smoothly. For all other fans in the computer, you will need to either open the computer and make sure the fan are working and if your BIOS monitors the RPM of the fans, enter BIOS and make sure the BIOS does not report any errors. If you need any kind of technical assistance, you can contact support cell at http://www.vtechsquad.com

PCI is an industry standard and you should be fine using the PCI USB card but you need to make sure your operating system will be compatible with the PCI card that you purchase. It will tell you right on the package.
