There are several options to buy replacement batteries for a Coleman rechargeable lantern, model 5348-700. I just picked up two new batteries from www.1000bulbs.com for $4.87 each plus shipping. ($20.99 for 2 with shipping!) Do a Google search for: ub645f1 6 volt - 4.5 ah - f1 terminal battery for other options
Maureen, Coleman Graphite Flashlight replace batteries. Remove bottom cap, it will be on tight, if you do not have good strength in your hands use a pair of pliers or channel locks. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How to change the batteries in Mag Lite
I scratched up my flashlight to figure out how to open and get into a "Battery Lock" style light to replace batteries. Take two pliers, pinch one on the middle section & the other at the tip. Torque hard left as if you are "locking the battery" as advertised. Once it passes a certain area, the tip will come out. Very poor design. Coleman should have made grooves so pliers can easily grip instead of scratching the heck out of the aluminum. Now mine is ugly and could scratch my hand. Even used a towel to grip but still damaged light. Have to now sand down the damaged parts. Not very smart designers. I am Asian, pretty sure this was made in China.
In order for someone to help. We need more information, the manufacture name, the exact model number. Usually found somewhere on the device. That model number has to be the longest model I've ever seen. Maybe the LED is bad.
Hi Pauline:
Seems to me that the only way you can expect to get some action would be from the company that you were dealing with. Try contacting the Customer Service department.
If you get no help then I would suggest trying to contact the manufacturer.
If you mean it keeps on shooting out gas when you turn the knob, that sounds like the valve has a problem, likely a tiny piece of dirt in it. I am not sure there is any fix other than to take it out and clean it, or replace it.
If for some reason you are sure it is a regulator problem, then just change it for a new one - available at many stores that sell Coleman.
