dodge doesnt use the best electrical wiring. its more likely the radio itself to be the problem and the poor contact connections in wiring . solution is go to the junkyard and get another radio and wiring harness. it will dissconect,its ez to remove and install chrysler radio. just about ant chrysler radio from 84 -2002 will work. just take old radio out and look at connecter diagram to verify.

Need to check the power to the radio to confirm if this is power related. if not does the display come on without sound which can be a faulty speaker or power amplifier within the unit.
finally if there is request for codes if the battery was reset then the specified code must be put into the radio to make it work.

Not having tried this on your make but normally you have to leave the ignition ON for 30-60 minutes without turning it off (Or the timer starts again). I have done this many times and think that this will be the correct solution. Please let me know?
