How do I know when the number 1 cylinder should be firing
Rotate the engine in the correct direction while watching the valve gear. You will see the no 1 inlet valve go down and back. Watch the timing pulley or flywheel housing for the TDC(Top Dead Centre) mark to come around to zero or its corresponding mark on the case. When at TDC check where the ignition is on no 1. The actual firing point will be another mark visible slightly before TDC. I know it may seem obvious but not all engines have the no 1 at the pulley end, some are the flywheel end, won't hurt to check.

Sounds like you may have a fuel filter plugging or pump going bad..have the fuel pressure Checked with the
switch in the on position...the have the filter changed it should be in line along side the frame under the car..then check tne pressure again..if it is higher the pump is ok if not the pump is probably bad..it is inside the tank..somewhat of expensive to change $ 300 or so...good luck..
2006 chrysler pt cruiser timing belt diagram replace
Do you have the belt fully exposed and ready to replace? If so here is the routing and timing..first make sure the timing marks on the crank and block are matched by turning the engine by hand and that when you place the belt on the two camshafts the timing marks point directly at each other..may need some help here due to spring pressure on the valves.now the belt route, starting at the crank sprocket and going to the right..the belt goes over to and around the water pump drive the upwards and behind a idler pulley then up and around both camshaft gears then downward and behind the belt tensioner and then back to the crank sprocket...at this point you will see the belt is very close to itself just above the tensioner...and the idler..once in place, you will need a 3 and 6 mm Allen wrench to adjust the tensioner..if the timing marks point at each other on the camshaft gears and the crank and block..you are good to go to put the parts back on...as advice Since you are down that you might as well change the water pump as they are proned to go about the same time as the belt. Not required but may save double work and labor cost later..hood luck..

Most of the Chrysler products have the blower motor resister located on the passenger side firewall under the hood. You may have to remove the wiper arm and cowl grille..has a snap on wiring harness and it is fairly easy to replace once you get to it. There are two different types, one for air contition and one for non air...make sure you get the right one they are not inter changeable.Good luck..
Where is the valet switch in a pt cruiser
There is no valet switch in a factory system. If you have an aftermarket system, the valet switch could be anywhere the installer chose. You may have a faulty ECU. The ECU that controls door locks will depend on the model year of your PT. SOS Diagnostics

The red dot indicates a fault in the immobilizer system. You will need to find someone with a scan tool to read fault codes in the PCM and WCM (immobilizer module) to narrow down the possible causes. It could be faulty wiring, a faulty key or a faulty WCM module. If there is no one local to help you, you can mail parts to a service like SOS Diagnostics.
