1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2 is the firing order for the big blocks. Depending on which exhaust manifolds you have, will determine if you need to tuse the block clips or not. Whether using HEI, or the points, make sure wires that run next to each other cross only once.

get them refurbished

i have seen condensers leak in an area that is hard to see.put dye in the system and check for leaks anywhere on the condenser.

it cant be cleaned

nothing

does it make a clicking sound when it is running. Open the hood and see if you hear it clicking. Did it hold pressure? If you hear clicking sound it needs a new clutch
