Yes. Be aware that a bad cam sensor can cause this code if the cam and crank sensor are both borderline bad, you can check with a DVOM or a scanner that reads data pids. I hope this helps. Take care

Does it crank over and not run or does not crank over at all? If it cranks over then spray some starter fluid down the throttle body. If it starts, then you have a fuel problem. Check your fuel pressure. Some of these v6 require at least 45 psi to start. If it does not start, then pull off a plug wire and check for spark.

Let me get this straight. You cannot take it out of park and go to reverse, or you put it in reverse but the car will not move when the fuse is in.

Building on Mr Hooper's answer ... if you have managed to short something out as part of the ignition switch it could be one of the RELAYs in the engine is near the passenger side firewall. I would evaluate the "STRTR" relay which is one of the larger ones in the box on the upper right hand corner.
Sometimes if there are 2 identical relays in a box you just switch them to see if that changes anything, but for this Impala it does not look like there is a twin relay to play with.
If you are handy with a multimeter you can check the relay ... watch video for some pointers to do that ... even if you do not have the internal wiring of the relay
Good luck on your troubleshooting.
None of the handful of fuses in the passenger compartment (shotgun side down by the kick plate) look like they have anything to do with the ignition/starting circuit.

It doesn't have one. To check the fluid you have to pull a plug from the passenger side of the transmission, by the CV shaft. Start the car and pull the plug. If fluid comes out, it is full. If not then add. The fill is the red cap on the top of the transmission.

There is a resistor in the fan circuit to give you different speeds and it burns out. It's down by the fan on most cars.

I hope you were not in the middle of no where when this happened.
First before you take off the nut mark it with a scribe so you can see where the not sets on the pinion shaft then count the number of turns it takes to remove the nut. When tightening the nut back, just realign the marks. Since the seal is still leaking it may have been damaged. Make sure to lube it before installation. I usually fill the area where the spring sets with grease.

Chevy trucks produced in 1964 are part of the modern V-8 engine era of trucks. The standard engines were 230 and 292 cubic-inch, six-cylinder engines for all two-wheel drives. In 1964, these engines were available for four-wheel drive pickups also. The 283 cubic-inch, V-8 engine was optional. The V-8 engines did not begin to outsell the V-6 until 1967. Two-wheel drive models were rear-wheel drive.
