Cannot align Finderscope to target object
It can take some time to get this correct. Make sure the mounts to the finderscope are correctly attached. I loosened all the screws and started over a few times. I use it in it landscape mode (so my motor doesn't keep moving) and target a knot on a nearby fence or a neighbors chimney. Once you have something close aligned, you'll likely need to tweek it when you get to things farther away.
Received a bushnell telescope, model number: 18-1561, no instructions
I would suggest logging on to Bushnell's website go to Support/Customer service and find where it lists manuals then you shoudl be abel to enter model number and download the manual which is going to be handy and possibly needed multiple times until you and yourgrandson get this Telescope memorized.
I have found that most every manufacturer now has made it possible to download their products manuals from their web sites.

How can install skyscout drivers on win 7 64 bit?
Try using the compatibility feature of Windows 7 to install and run your Celestron software. People have had success doing this. We recommend choosing Windows XP 32-bit as the choice for an operating system.
At the time of this writing (May 2009), you can't update SkyScout beyond version 1.29.196 in French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, German, Japanese or Russian. This update is only available in English. Celestron will announce availability of future updates in all languages under the support tab on the SkyScout product page.(Updated 12/25/13)

Lens alignment
generally under the edges of the covering at the eyepiece end there are tiny screws that are used to adjust the prisms in the binoculars, generally out of alignment issues are caused by the prisms being out of alignment.

Which lens is more powerful..a 10mm or a 20mm?
A 10 mm. If you know the focal length of your scope, divide that by the focal length of the eyepiece, and the answer is the magnification you will get. However bear in mind when viewing astro objects, a very high magnification will degrade the image sharpness, and make the object hard to get on centre. Most experienced amateur astronomers use a medium power eyepiece at most.
