there are 3 screws on the cover which allows the cover to be removed and you will find the 3 battery slots( cr2025 lithium)

The power adapter has a fuse inside. If you have a voltmeter, see if there is any voltage present at the tip and outer barrel of the plug. If there is none the adapter is bad. If there IS voltage, then look for a fuse on the circuit board inside the keyboard.
