Try tailoring the broken board by soldering all the dry joints ,getting a new one is only by buying a new amp.

Hum can come from a jillion different places. Is this hum coming from the unit with no speakers connected, or is it heard through the speakers? What sources are being used? What cables? Are thereany common sources of interference near? Troubleshooting is difficult without much information.

Do you have an indicator light blinking or illuminated? If so, your amp has DC Offset, meaning a damaged amplifier. The static noise you heard, may have been DC voltage on the speaker output. Try the Carver forum . The only place that might have one is the service centre in Snohomish Washington. I have rebuilt MANY 1.5t's....what led you to believe it is the transformer ? They rarely go, unless the amp was overfused. Shout me back...I can probably help you. Oh and the part number is "power transformer for a 1.5t"....it is unique to the 1.5t and one from a PM 1.5t ( professional version ) will NOT work. ....Rob

This guy on YouTube has made stacks of video's about this model. He knows what he's talking about too, so I would watch his video's and you might get a clue to what is going on with yours.
