Good day,

I have heard a lot of complaints about people taking Blurry Photos.

There are a few possibilities for it and a few easy fixes.

The first possibility I would identify is a dirty lens. To fix this simply take a clean microfiber cloth and gently clean the lens until there are no smudges visible.



The other possibility I would identify is that the pictures are out of focus.
This problem can be caused by a dirty lens or because the object or person was not focused on. To ensure focus on your photos, line up your shot and wait for the camera to focus by pressing the shutter button half way down. When focused press the shutter button in all the way and hold the camera still until the photo appears on the screen. By doing this you will eliminate any motion that might mess up your shot.

This camera is a perfect one to show the problem with the tiny sensors in the typical point and shoot. From the same sensor size that previously gave 2 or 3 megapixels, Canon now extracts 7.something. In order to do that, they have to turn the gain up so that each pixel actually puts out a signal to be recorded. The natural outcome of that is noise. In this camera, Canon includes heavy noise reduction software that softens the image in order to reduce noise at the various ISO settings above the minimum one, but the result is still a mix of noisy and soft or fuzzy images.

However, the noise should be well controlled at the low end of the ISO settings.

I suspect you have somehow gotten the ISO setting set up higher than the lowest one. Use the four-way controller to access the ISO and set it to the lowest (80) value. This should give you noise free shots.

try setting your camera's auto balance into Automatic or Outdoor. So the camera could adjust the light or diable flash.

The card may be corrupted and unusable. Try with a new SD Card. If that doesn't work, you need Canon Service. Try formatting it in the computer, add images and see if you can see the images in the camera.

I have the same problem. The photos are blurry at the border.

Basically the date stamp can be turned on / off as an option on the RECORD menu. Page 33 of the manual explains it (with pictures).

Note that if the option is turned on, it states that the date / time is permanently embedded in the picture.

While in Postcard Print mode, use the Menu button to navigate to the Date Stamp section in the Rec Menu.
Select [Off], [Date] or [Date & Time] then select 'Off'.
Press the Menu button again to get back to shooting mode.

If you have windows - use windows movie maker. After you import the clip - go to toos>effects. Here you have the option to rotate it 90 or 270 degrees (depending on how you took the video). when you finish - plublish the movie. Now it should be rotated

Search for "converting avi to DVD format" in Google, you will find a number of software that will do this for you (some are free). Here's one that is at the top of the search list for you to try out ... http://www.winavi.com/avi-to-dvd.htm.

Having received no response in over a month, I assume this is no longer a problem.

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.Download this camera photo recovery softwarehttp://www.asoftech.com/apr/Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

H264 is a "mov." file. Windows media player11 and Power DVD 9 do not support this type of file. If you don't like QuickTime, there are many free media players that will support it (VLC is a good one). You could convert the mov. file to an avi. file with a video converter program. Then your avi. format movie will play in WMP

look into the camera with a bright light and see if any pins are bent where the memory card goes in. also check to see if the card is unlocked and check the card to see if it works in another device.

Try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your digital camera memory card, here are some for your options.

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.
