These camcorders are not repaired because of the low cost of replacing them.

That is the pinch roller. If it does not press the tape against the capstan, then the tape will not pass the read/write heads. Replace it.

Why have you bought a 'new' computer with such an outdated operating system ? Have you an available expansion slot on the motherboard to install a Firewire card ?

Time for a new camcorder, you can't get parts, they do not sell to the public.

Check on eBay. We do not sell anything here or do we have any catalog to show if this cable is available.

Contact Canon - could be that the unit is not compatible with Win 7 and may need some other driver or patch to work properly.
