I try to record a video i have on vhs but it stops recording

If you are experiencing issues with your video converter when trying to record a video from a VHS camera, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Make sure that all of the connections between the VHS camera, the video converter, and the computer are secure and properly connected.
  2. Check the cables for any visible damage or wear. If the cables are damaged, they may be causing the signal to be lost.
  3. If the video converter has a separate power source, make sure that it is properly plugged in and functioning.
  4. Try using a different VHS tape to see if the problem is with the specific tape you are using.
  5. If the problem persists, you may want to try using a different video converter to see if the issue is with the device itself.
I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I have a Canon Elura MC. For sometime now, when I

I would take it in and have it retrieved as it could damage it if i told you another method. A camera shop will take this out and if damaged fix it and put it onto a dvd of some sort for you for under $25 bucks respectively. I would never tell my clients to try to get the tape out if I knew it might in danger its contents actually we are not allowed to. I also hate telling you to bring the matter somewhere else but to entertain the best way of getting the tape out would be a expert and nothing more.

White Screen. When I turn my camera on, it has power but, the display is white and you cannot see anything through the view finder.

hi, did you check the picture through the view finder ? if it is clear, then there may be snag in the monitor, normally the connecting cable to the motherboard become break, if so should replace it. if the picture is visible when you turn the monitor to either side, then you can confirm the fault of the cable.

How to transfer mini dv tape to dvd or vcd

you should have a few choices with this model: usb, firewire, composite a/v..

this link will take you to canon's download page for your camera,

the dvmessenger app should let you view your camera on the comp, use it for videoconferencing, and view it online, as well as remotely control it, although it may not let you transfer much.

your camera should have come with an installation cd that included digital video software. if it did not, you will have to contact canon for a replacement cd.

i would recommend downloading the product manual from the above site and checking page 134

in addition you can use the memory card to transfer files via a memory card reader on the pc, these can be picked up inexpensively at most camera and computer stores. your camera however should be fine if you are using windows xp and the usb cable for your camera.

hope this helps,
trin

Picture during playback is badly distorted

There could be several reasons for badly distorted pictures. considering the age of the unit as DV camcoder which I am guessing would be quite a bit. Most likely the heads have worn out and need replacement. I am assuming you have this problem with newly recorded tapes being played on a TV directly from the camcorder. For this you may also need to check if you are using new tapes and whether the recording mode is PAL or NTSC as per the TV format. Alternate test would be to play back a previously recorded tape back from the camcorder. That way at least you can establish if the problem is the read head or the write head or the tape itself.
