Question edited for maker name MirroCraft not 'Mirror'. Ask them about the model. If it wasn't a 14 foot boat, I would have said the H14 was 2014, and then I remembered mine starts SS15- and the HIN. However, this question has obviously been asked many times before. The 'H' code is 1968. How can I determine the model year of my MirroCraft boat? This all depends upon the age of the boat, but after 1973 your MirroCraft serial number will start off with "MRR" and the last 2 digits of the serial number will be the year. For example, MRR00000H399 would mean your boat is a 1999 model. The picture below is an example of a 2014 serial numbered boat. Also here is a reference for boats made earlier then 1973, serial number starts with: A=1961 B=1962 C=1963 D=1964 E=1965 F-1966 G=1967 H=1968 I=1969 1970, 1971, 1972 are very hard to determine. Not all serial numbers give the year of manufacture. It will be in one of two locations on the label you got the serial number from. Look on the next line down under the actual serial number. There should be a four digit number. This is the year of manufacture. On some labels there is a small square in the lower right corner, next to the CE mark, with a two digit number in it. This is the last two digits of the production year. 02 is 2002, 04 is 2004 and so on.

I would power unit with separate battery and separate the 2 items.

If you have already replaced the control boards and the trolling motor still seems to lose track of its location, there are a few other things you can check:

1. The propeller may be damaged or bent, causing it to steer off course. Inspect the propeller for any visible damage and replace it if necessary.
2. The motor's GPS sensor may not be functioning properly. Check to make sure the sensor is clean and free of debris. You can also try recalibrating the sensor according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. The wiring connections may be loose or corroded, causing intermittent power to the motor. Check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of corrosion, and clean or replace as necessary.
4. The foot pedal or remote control may be malfunctioning, causing the motor to steer off course. Check the foot pedal or remote control for any damage or loose connections, and replace or repair as necessary.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to take your trolling motor to a professional repair shop for further diagnosis and repair.
