You may have spotted white and black flakes in water in the past. White flakes are created by mineral deposits from hard water, whereas black ones are caused by mold that develops in your water dispenser.

There are multiple possible causes. Check pages 12-14 (PDF pages 13-15) in the manual: https://useandcares.hamiltonbeach.com/files/840178600.pdf Note: if you hear the refrigerator unit running or feel heat at the hot water tank, you have power. Not listed in the troubleshooting guide in the manual: pump or valve unit failure. I don't see anything on venting for the water bottle either, so in addition to the steps in the manual, do a check of any venting on the bottle attachment assembly for clogging.

Some others addressed this issue on Fixya.com before: Brett 42 said: the water line is froze.. I took a hair dryer and applied it directly to the dispenser for about 10 minutes. I then held down the buttton for approximately 30 seconds and the water began to drip extremely slowly then faster until a small chunk of ice shot out of the dispenser. I believe the reason this happened was that I the temp of my freezer set lower than the fatory setting. Mike Smith said: "1) remove the tubing connector behind refrig kickplate . Press for water . If no water comes from tube under refrig , then possibly frozen tank but probably not . Probably bad water inlet valve . ( tank is in the lower potrion of the refrig section behind the crispers ) . 2) if water does shoot out , then your freezer door is frozen which requires leaving door open and tapeing light switch closed and tape plastic around freezer section opening so fridge will continue to operate normally . Thawing freezer door could take a day or 2 . 3) You can plug the hoses back togather and walk by occasionally pressing water untill comes out . Lower your freezer temperature setting also ( could be set for too cold)" I hope this helps you out!

The manual only says that you have to make sure that cooling is switched on (Page 12). The unit has a 1 year warranty. If it out of warranty, you just need to pick it up and take it to a refrigeration engineer. It may need topping up with refrigerant gas. Consumer Support Questions? Insufficient water or noisy GE Reverse Osmosis Filtration System GXRM10RBL.If this sytem gets too much debris or air bubbles in it, it can cause the shut-off valve to close improperly, making an annoying whining noise and reducing water flow. By turning the wall-hung system containing the filters upside down, you can see this valve neatly wedged between the pre and post filter housings. See photo.The GE part number is WS22X10038 and can be obtained on eBay or from a supplier like ereplacementparts for about $20 including shipping.The part can be removed by gently prying it out of its retaining slot on the main housing. Be sure to note which way the valve is pointing and photograph the order of the tubes that attach to the four threaded nozzles on the valve. Use small adjustable pliers to undo and replace the plastic nuts that hold the tubes in place.This should solve the noise and improve water flow to the sink faucet.
