I'm not sure what you're referring to as it could be one of a few possible things. Tell me exactly which knobs you’re having problems with. You mentioned contrast and tint. Is that right? Contrast pertains to the background of light and dark.
Tint means the changing of colors. Both of these settings should be placed in the center position if your tv is working properly. I hope this helps.

It sounds like the over load protection is kicking on. This could be for several reasons.
Unplug your tv for several minutes and try again. If problem persist get it serviced.

Try the 'bad' sky box on the good TV.
Swap the cable from the good LNB socket to the 'bad' one. If the good side stays good, the 'bad' cable or connector or lead or sky box is at fault.
