My Fire HD 8 6th generation is not responding and some of the items on my home screen have disappeared. What can I do to fix this? Maybe it needs a new battery?

There could be several reasons why your Fire HD 8 6th generation is not responding and some items are missing from the home screen. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Perform a soft reset: Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release. Wait for the device to restart and see if it resolves the issue.
  2. Check the battery level: If your device is not charged, it may not function properly. Connect the device to a power source and check if it charges.
  3. Clear cache and data: Go to Settings > Apps & Games > Manage All Applications > All > Home Screen > Clear Cache and Clear Data.
  4. Check for updates: Make sure your device is up-to-date with the latest software version. Go to Settings > Device Options > System Updates and check for any available updates.
  5. Factory reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try a factory reset. Note that this will erase all data on your device, so make sure to back up any important files before proceeding. To perform a factory reset, go to Settings > Device Options > Reset to Factory Defaults.
If none of the above steps work, it is possible that your device may need a new battery or further troubleshooting. You may want to consider contacting Amazon customer support for assistance.

  5. Remove and re-download the book: If the problem persists with a particular book, try removing it from your Kindle and re-downloading it.

Kindle is running slow. How to fix?

If your Kindle is running slow, here are a few things you can try to fix it:
  1. Restart your Kindle: This is one of the easiest and most effective ways to fix any performance issues. Simply press and hold the power button for 20 seconds until the device turns off, then turn it back on.
  2. Remove any unnecessary content: If you have too much content on your Kindle, it can slow down the device. Remove any books or files that you don't need.
  3. Clear cache and data: Clearing the cache and data can help to speed up your Kindle. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Storage" > "Cached Data" and tap on "Clear Cached Data."
  4. Update the software: Make sure that your Kindle is running the latest software version. To check for updates, go to "Settings" > "Device Options" > "System Updates."
  5. Disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: If you're not using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, turning them off can help to improve performance.
  6. Reset your Kindle to factory settings: If none of the above solutions work, you can try resetting your Kindle to factory settings. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Device Options" > "Reset to Factory Defaults."
Keep in mind that some older Kindle models may experience performance issues due to hardware limitations. In that case, upgrading to a newer model might be the best solution.

Sylvania SLTDVD 7200 DVD Tablet. Every time I try to download, a message comes out saying certificate problem.

Hello again William. Question edited for clarity and add your Tablet details. Question moved to a Sylvania Tablet Category. Ah okay, this post explains a bit better than the last one. Larger companies have Security Certificates to basically prove that they are trustworthy. The Certificates expires and have to be renewed. Some decide to, but some don't bother. On a computer, you can change a setting to ignore them, but not sure on an Android unit as I am an Apple iOS person, but the videos explain. There is explanation here. Ignore the fact it mentions Samsung, Galaxy or Phone, the Operating System is the same as all are Android. https://www.google.com/search?q=android+tablet+there+are+problems+with+the+security+certificate

Black screen after windows start.

It could be the drive failed, can you boot to BIOS at all? I'd recommend a USB Drive adapter, then pull the drive from the laptop, connect to the adapter and then plug into a working PC USB port (Be sure that PC has good/current antivirus and firewall software and it has been backed up itself). The disk should then come up and look like a regular flash drive. Recover the critical files, then back up onto something like a CD or DVD that is set aside for safe keeping. Now you can be a bit more adventurous - potentially the BIOS settings changed, or the on board battery is dead and needs changing (can be complicated). There are also bootable drive recovery utilities that you can spin onto a CD. But data recovery is always first.

My ivso bluetooth keyboard does not hold its charge. What could be the issue and how do I fix it?

  1. Battery issue: The battery in the keyboard may be faulty or have a low capacity, which can cause it to quickly drain and not hold a charge.
  2. Charging issue: The charging port or cable may be damaged, preventing the battery from charging properly.
  3. Keyboard software issue: There may be a software issue with the keyboard that's preventing it from charging correctly or retaining a charge.
  4. Connectivity issue: The keyboard may not be compatible with your Samsung tablet, or there may be a Bluetooth connectivity issue that's causing the battery to drain quickly.
It is recommended to have the issue diagnosed by a qualified technician or customer support for the keyboard manufacturer. They can diagnose the issue and provide a solution to resolve the problem. Ignoring the issue could lead to further damage and increased repair costs in the future.
