I have a Gaf super 8 projector. It works fine except the film will not wind onto the rear wheel. I have to manually turn the wheel to wind up the film as it is played. I don’t think the rear take-up wheel is powered so I’m not sure what to do.

I am definitely not an expert about these but having seem them in operation I believe the rear wheel is or should be powered. The examples I have seen used a slipping belt method that provides enough drive to the takeup spool to wind on the film without any significant tension on the film. The belts looked as though they were made from something like curtain wire...

Latch for the Film door broke

This is so tedious a job that I would not try it myself unless I was adept in doing this right.Unless the camera costs a lot to start with, I would just get another SLR. I believe the cost in repairing it depending on model and the size, will be about $200. I say this because from experience, I had a $250 camera 20 years ago and the latch broke on mine and he said it would not be worth it to fix it. Unfortunately, it was way out of warranty.

Driver for target australia film scanner f100

I own the Target AU F100 film scanner and have the original CD. It has a Driver directory on it, which includes DriverInstaller app and 32 and 64 bit subdirectories. It installed recently on my Win 10 64 bit PC and worked ok, despite being Win XP/Vista software vintage 2010.

My handle broke on my Solidex Model VT-90HQ tripod

As far as I know Solidex is out of business and since most of there parts are not standard to the other major manufacturers you sould either buy a new tripod or search for the same (exact same) model on ebay or craigs list to find the same model and use it for parts.

What do you do when the pug ins on the side of a k1000 tagalong don't work ?

Firstly, post your query in the correct forum - whatever this is, it is not a camera, nor has it anything to do with photography.

Manfrotto #190 tripod leg swings open and closed on its own versus having to pull with some muscle. How do I correct this? Thanks

Just strip down each leg individually, remove, clean and lubricate sparingly the leg clamps (I use silicone bicycle chain lubricant), wipe the leg sections to remove any accumulated detritus, then re-assemble. Do NOT over tighten the leg clamps - even the aluminium ones can be brittle and snap if over tightened.

I have attached the 35mm Neewer lens to my Sony a6000 and am getting white flashing lines around objects in the viewfinder which disappear and reappear during manual focusing. Can this be resolved?

Remove the lens, attach the old lens and see if you get the same issue, if yes, then you have an issue with the base, and will need to be take to a repairman. If no issues, then the new lens is having issues. Since its new, I assume to will have a warranty.

My Nikon is coming up with “n1” where the numbers are displayed and the film won’t wind so I can’t remove it, what do I do?

On many cameras, a lens error means the lens is not set to is highest f/stop such as f/16 f/22 and the like. The lens must be put in that mode for the camera so that the camera electronics can auto set the f/stop as needed. First thing I would do is look at the f/stop on lens with manual f/stop settings; such as the Nikon 50mm f/1.8D making sure it is set to the highest f/ number (smallest opening). Remove the lens check the dial. Also, is the battery fully charged? If all that is okay then do the following couple of things; 1. Get yourself a film change bag, they look like a black plastic/rubberish T-shirt. Put the camera in there make sure the bottom is fully closed, put your arms through the sleeves, they have elastic keeping light out. Open the camera carefully remove the film canister then using your fingers rewind the film back into the canister. 2. Okay, you do not have access to a film change bag, easy get a thick blanket or two, go in to a closet, close the door, put a towel at the bottom, cover your camera as best as you can then do the same as if you were using a change bag. Important, make sure you are in a completely dark place without ANY LIGHT working its way through to you. Next, being as your are using film, big congratulations for that, purchase a change bag from Adorama, Amazon, B&HPhoto. Every film shooter should have one. Hope the above helps you.
