Spear and jackson chainsaw. runs

OK - let's work through this. If you need choke all the time then the mixture is too weak when the choke is off. Putting the choke on literally chokes off the air supply to the engine by lowering a small shutter across the entrance to the carburettor. That means either there is too much air getting to the engine (don't see how!!) or too little fuel. So, how do we get too little fuel? You could check for this as follows;
- before we do anything tricky let's check the obvious things - is there a fresh fuel mix in the tank? Petrol does go off, especially if there is 2 -stroke oil added to it. If it's over a month old from the pump mix up a fresh batch. Is the idle speed set too low so the engine stalls when the choke is knocked off? You can see this screw to one side of the carburettor (you need to remove the top lid in front of the handle on the chain saw, and then remove the air filter to see it). Turn the screw half a turn clockwise to speed the engine up. Be warned - if the engine starts it will run faster than normal and that means the chain may start to spin around. Also - check that the chain brake is off (i.e. the safety lever is pulled backwards, and that the chain is free to move BEFORE you attempt to start)
- is the fuel filter blocked? To get to this, make a wire hook (e.g. thick fuse wire) and gently hook out the fuel filter that's sitting at the bottom of the fuel tank, and take a look at it (be gentle - you can damage the gauze if you are clumsy). Does the gauze look clear? I.e. if you dip it into petrol it will freely run into the filter and of course drain out when you lift it? If not, replace it.
- next stop - are the jets in the carburettor set right? I don't have a service manual for this (and I know the manual says unhelpfully "return for service") but basically you will have seen two holes on the side of the chain saw (below the handle) two small 0.8cm holes; one marked 'L' (for low speed) and the other 'H' (for high). Put a fine flat screwdriver down the L hole and feel for the slot of the low speed jet. Once engaged turn it out half a turn and this will enrich the mixture - if this seems to help and you can start the engine then adjust the L jet in or out until the engine is idling comfortably. If it idles too quickly then you can also turn down the idle screw (see previous paragraph).
- no luck still? Well, it could be fuel pump or a blocked jet in the carburettor but this really is a 'return to the service centre' task!

Good luck!

Noma snow blower G2145000 Manual

If this is a 2 stroke engine you will need to use a 40 to 1 mixture of gas and two stroke oil. Mix the fuel in a larger fuel can and this makes the measuring a LOT easier. 5 litres of gas needs 125ml of two stroke oil. A 20 litre 'Gerry' can is four times bigger so you put in 500ml of oil. This way you've got a handy supply of ready mixed fuel so you can just fill and go.

2018 Black and Decker Grass Hog. How do you remove change position collar on lower assembly?

Better read through all of this before jumping in. I am not sure it fits your situation exactly. To remove the change position collar on the lower assembly of your 2018 Black and Decker Grass Hog, follow these steps: Disconnect the Power: Before servicing the trimmer, disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery to prevent accidental reconnection. Remove the Instrument Panel: The instrument panel houses controls for most of the electrical systems in the vehicle. Remove the instrument panel by following these steps: Disconnect the negative battery cable. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels. Apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands. Remove the front wheels. Remove the retaining nut in the radiator coolant recovery reservoir assembly. Remove the retaining bolt in the front fender splash shield and position it out of the way. Are we approaching where you think you stripped something? Access the Lower Assembly: Tag and remove the wiring connectors. Remove the retaining screw in the parking brake control. Remove the parking brake control. Remove the retaining screw in the instrument panel finish panel in the lower instrument panel. Remove the retaining screw in the steering column opening reinforcement. Remove the retaining screw in the steering gear housing. Remove the tilt wheel handle and shank. Remove the ignition switch. Disconnect the upper steering column shroud and remove the retaining bolts. Disconnect the ignition switch assembly. Tag and remove the electrical connector. Disconnect the vacuum hose. Remove the retaining nut in the steering column assembly. Lower the steering column tube assembly. Disconnect the shift cable assembly. Remove the steering column shroud retaining screw. Remove the retaining screws from the multi-function switch and position it out of the way. Remove the retaining screw from the cowl side trim panel. Remove the lower panel door trim, remove the retaining screw, and position the panel out of the way. Tag and disconnect the wiring connectors and remove the ground wire assembly. Remove the retaining rivet in the passenger side of the instrument panel. Disconnect the generator. Disconnect the radio feed of the wire assembly. Remove the Sector Gears: Remove the positioning tab on the end of the lock cylinder using an 1/8-inch burring tool. Remove all burrs from the lock module and cylinder assembly. Push on the locking tab of the lock cylinder from inside the lock module assembly and remove the lock cylinder. Remember to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines while working on your Grass Hog. If you encounter any difficulties, consider referring to the instruction manual for additional guidance. This is all the info I have scraped together.
