You could try Googleing it, if you havn't already. Another method I've used on other guitars was to carfully remove the neck from the rest of the guitar. Manufacturers often put the production year on a tag or even printed directly on the wood body under the interfacing part of the neck. Some risk= "what if I damage my guitar?"

Sounds like a faulty potentiometer. See if you can get to it and spray the inside with switch cleaner. Don't use WD40. The unit looks like a standard volume control, or does it switch in notches?

Oops, I missed it is a foot switch. Replace the switch or try to clean as above. If all three switches are giving the same problem and are known to work on other units, then they must be a bridging connection to its plug socket.

One possibility would be to tape some card board over the speaker screens, or if you have technical skills you could replace the external speaker jack with a headphone jack that will disconnect the internal speakers when the headphones are inserted. A variable resister in the speaker circuit would limit the current to the speakers and control the volume.

Ibanez guitars have used serial numbers since the mid 1970s. Some sources say the practice started in September 1975, but serial numbers indicating production as early as October 1974 have been spotted.

You have to get the volume pot cleaned and lubricated. If not a quick replacement should do.
