Ya those are a classic, really made tasty baking with convection heat but think it is old machine. Could be just a bad chord as unit runs about 12 amps. Like space heater, if they loose some connection start to make chord not good. I would look for another. I've seen a China one for around $100, and built-in ovens at Habitate for Humanity retail store with that feature for reasonable. Good to fix but when dealing with high amp points, they will wear out as they do with space heaters often.

Unplug the microwave or turn off the power to the microwave at the breaker.
Locate the vent on your microwave. It is usually located on the front, side, or bottom of the machine.
Remove the screws holding the vent panel in place and take off the panel.
Lift off the vent panel of the microwave and set it aside.
Locate the box that holds the halogen light.
Loosen and remove the screws that hold the cover of the box in place.
Remove the cover to access the light bulb.
Carefully remove the old light bulb and replace it with a new one of similar wattage.
Replace the cover and screw it back in place.
Reattach the vent panel and screw it back in place.
Your user manual ought explain this in detail if you are unsure.
