My homedic s humidifier is leaking.I turn it on in the evening and next morning I see it in a puddle of water.Happens every time.

Chances are it is just condensation not leakage if it's only wet when its running. Nothing you can do except put a towel under it.

Thermostat - Honeywell Chronotherm III

What you can do is try and clean the contacts. Open the door on the thermistat and remove the two screws, after that you can seperate the part that is mounted to the wall and the front panel. Look at the part that is mounted on the wall and you'll see the contacts that should be a copper color. They might be black from age. Clean them and you'll be surprised how well it will work after that.

My Honeywell HCM-315T will not turn on. No lights, nothing. Is there a fuse or switch that I can replace? Other ideas?

Very first thing. If it won’t turn on, unplug it, and check the cord....especially if you have, or have had, a rabbit that has already chewed through every other wired devices you have ie: TV, satellite dishes, DVD players, other electrical cords.
I got my humidifier year before last and only used it a few times that year. Our humidity was fine until now, so the humidifier was still new as far as I was concerned. I checked every online help suggestion before I remembered Buster. Sure enough....exposed and partially chew wiring. I thanked God that I hadn’t been shocked.
Thank you, Daddy, for teaching this 70 year old grandma how to splice wiring and install other electrical wiring when I was a teenager. I miss you so much.
CAUTION: UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO SPLICE WIRING DON’T THINK YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT. TAKE YOUR APPLIANCE TO A SPECIALIST TO GET A BRAND NEW WIRE PLACED ON YOUR APPLIANCE. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. IN FACT, TAKE IT TO AN ELECTRICIAN ANYWAY.

How do you fill the venta humidifier I don't have

http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/123738.pdf

Fill Water Tank.

Turn off humidifier and unplug the power cord from A/C outlet. Remove tank from

base. Turn upside down and unscrew filling cap. Fill tank with clean, cool, distilled,

filtered, or tap water. Do not attempt to fill unit through Vapor Nozzle. Water temperature

should NEVER be too hot or too cold. Extreme temperatures can damage the

unit. Tighten filling cap firmly. Return tank to base and let it sit for a few minutes. For

first time use or when replacing the demineralization cartridge filter, please soak the

filter in warm water for several minutes.

White dust humidifiers harmful

I know this is an old question, however there are many of these units in use so I feel it is relevant. Actually, this white dust is harmful. If not for my Dyson purifier suddenly indicating dangerous levels of particulate in the air, I would never have pinpointed that the source of my cats developing persistent asthmatic cough, was my new humidifier. This is not benign, it's completely unhealthy. In fact their coughing persisted after removing the unit, and up until every surface was cleaned. I can only guess where else it's accumulated as it has even settled inside closed drawers. It is so fine, this dust cannot be filtered. With the amount of mineral being pumped into the air it can even inhaled into the lungs. I have never seen this much dust with any humidifier in my life. It is excessive. What is the point in buying all these filters it requires when it's not actually filtering anything? Buying distilled water is impractical and yet another expense to get a passable result from this already expensive unit. I really think think there is a deeper problem here. In my research it seems this became an issue since Boneco took over. I wish they would address this problem. Customers are out of pocket, and unknowingly exposing themselves, children, elderly, and pets to possible health problems.
