The yellow wire is the cooling wire, it goes to the "Y" terminal. The red wire is the hot 24 volt wire, it goes to the "R" terminal. The green wire is the blower or fan wire, it goes to the "G" terminal. The white wire is the furnace or heat wire, it goes to the "W" or "W1" terminal.

If your unit is shutting down due to the outdoor pressure switch. The main two problems are the outdoor fan is bad ( the blade is not turning at full speed or not at all, motor getting hot after running a while and shutting down) or the outdoor coil is dirty. The outdoor coil gets a lot of dirt and debris impacted in the finn area. You need to disconnect all power and wash it out with a water hose. You must wash it the opposite flow from the airflow. If the air is pull through then wash the opposite direction. If it's cycling on the low pressure switch then the indoor blower may be the problem, low on refrigerant, dirty filter, dirty coil.

You need to know why it's there. I'm guessing one put it there because of a reason, (no common outside, only one good wire, no 24 to power a board, SOMETHING). What and exactly where is it hooked up?

Is the valve and attached line(s) from the tank with the grill itself working as it should? Is there an adequate amount of fuel in your tank to allow it to fire up? Check the "plumbing" stuff out to be certain there aren't any leaks or regulator issues. Good Luck & Have A Great Day!
