Better Cables Should I buy them

They always try to sell you better cables but some are good while others are worthless when it comes to cables any type of Digital cable is fine, so HDMI, DVI, Digital Fiber Optic(also called TosLink) will work a $20 HDMI vs a $1000 HDMI will have no difference any anyone who tells you anything else either is trying to sell you a cable or does not know what they are talking about, now if you have equipment and the power cable is removable there is nothing wrong with investing in a nice heavy shielded power cable because the factory cables are shielded but I have seen the produce audio noise I can hear and video noise I can see, also any analog cables are fine to upgrade because good speaker cable is something I could hear the difference so always compare speakers cables to your inexpensive and if you can't hear a difference then return them, in the business we refer to the compare of 2 things as to A and B them. Surge suppressors are great because I much rather that my Panamax surge suppressor gives its life than any of my equipment but now surge suppressors also have Clean Power and what that does is take the small surgers the happen all day everyday out, that is why somebody gets home and they go to turn the TV on and it won't come on, well if you just have some cheap suppressor from Walmart etc the dirty power over time has destroyed the TV so yes clean power is a great thing, check out www.panamax.com for great products and www.soundadvice.com for everything cool as heck, they have everything you need for great sound. Remember if you can hear the difference then return it...

I have three wires, yellow, blue and red which operated a fan which I am replacing. The new fan has a small cable junction with three marking, L, N and T. Which wire to which letter is my problem. I

I'd be willing to bet the yellow wire is really white just discolored and if so the that would be N for neutral the white wire, blue has been for the fan light ( L ) on the ones I've done so that would leave the red and T.

Back pack leaf blower wont run past half chick

Either your carb is still dirty as in has clogged jets or passages, bad diaphragm in the carb or you have the air/fuel needles way out of adjustment. Google what type of motor you have and how to set carb. Or even get a manual, that would be my advice. Also make sure you don't have to much 2 stoke oil in your fuel mix.

How to put a raw plug into a plaster wall?

It's actually quite easy, but a few simple rules need to be followed. The drill size will depend on the size of the plug to be used. The type of drill bit will depend on whether it is a wall with plaster on it or plasterboard, which will have a cavity behind it. If it is a solid wall, use a masonry drill, on hammer setting if you have it. For a plasterboard wall a wood or HSS drill bit will do the job. Once you have drilled the hole, push plug in as far as you can, then tap it flush with a hammer. Job done.

I have an extension in my house where the bricks

Check all round the window and ensure a good seal with the brick and sill [use silicon sealant at the joint between the window frame and the brick & sill and brick] and that the sill has a drip bar [ridge or channel under the sill running sideways at the furthest away from the wall] If not put one on the underside. Almost anything will do [sounds silly but an elastic band will do temporary or even a line of the silicon] so long as it collects the drips from the sill. also ensure that the sill slopes downward & away from the wall
How old is the extension ?? I ask because if it is 50+ yrs you may have lime mortar which lets the bricks breath and if this has been re-pointed later with non- lime mortar [i.e. portland cement mortar] any water which gets in above will not escape out through the lime mortar below.
Secondly, if this is a north or east facing wall getting little sun and if the bricks were originally not good, frost & freezing will cause the flaking.
Bricks - has the wall been built with facings or commons. commons will spoil [flaking] sooner.
Do your bricks have a frog. That is a hollow in the middle [& looks a bit like a cake which has sunk in the middle] The frog should be facing down otherwise water will collect You can only check this by taking a brick out [applies mainly to modern bricks ]
