Hi To set the drag on the spinning reel you adjust the knob that holds the reel in place. The same knob you use to take the reel off to clean and oil. It will hold the reel in place and as you thighten it down it will increase the drag.

Reel only retrieves in one direction. If you turn the anti- reverse button off(lever under spool)You are able to retrieve in reverse.

Hey michael, Sometime when you add line to a spincast reel, where you tie the knot and wind line onto the reel, it makes a bump in the spool, this "bump" in the spool sometimes hits inside the reel everytime it makes a rotation....
