Number 1 cause of your symptom is the fuel pump. But could be something in the carbarator. You can eliminate carb issue by removing air filter and spraying carb cleaner in it till it almost stalls then resumes RPM. Do this 3 or 4 times. Best to you.

Short of replacing all your switches and wall plates in a matching color of your choice, a cheaper option might be to find a satin spray paint in or near-enough to your color and gently spraying the new dimmer(s) to match.
