What can replace that tape, if i can't find it what i can use ineteat

just go to any hardware store and buy any drywall mesh tape on that width (2" - 50mm) and approximately same length (50yds to 60yds), virtually all of them have same internal diameter, therefore you should not have any problem with putting it into the dispenser. do not bother with brandname! generic tape work as well and is half the price! tapeis glued only to tack to the wall, then mud is holding it.

I have 10000 sqft in drywall how much linear ft is it

Drywall sheets are 4 feet wide. Thus, each foot of a drywall sheet contains 4 square feet. Divide 10,000 by 4 = 2500 linear feet of drywall sheets. Add 5 to 10% for wastage.

Cutting Drywall Like a Pro

Cutting drywall is one of the more easy cuttings that you will do when remodeling your house although you hear all kinds of horror stories of people making huge mistakes and having to re-hang drywall or use exorbitant amounts of putty to fix mistakes. Following just a few simple tips you can master the task of cutting drywall. Most of the cuts that you will be doing will fall under the category of score, snap, cut. Because dry wall is fairly easy to cut, for a majority of cuts you will just need a scoring knife with just enough pressure to cut the paper and then you will be able to snap the drywall then you have to cut the paper on the back side and you are done. For the major cutouts that you will be doing like doors and windows, the best way to go about doing them is to measure and cut the boards before you hang them. Its best to have someone help you hold the board in place. There are two main types of saws that you will use a drywall rip saw and a keyhole saw. They each have their purpose and they should only be used for the purposes that they are meant for. The keyhole saw is for small cuts like holes for light fixtures, outlets and switches while the rip saw is for cutting drywall down to size like for doors and windows. Once you have mastered the basics of cutting drywall you will be able to do more advanced home repairs and will spend less time worrying about cutting out pieces of drywall.

Sheet rock on nine foot walls made easier

if you find yourself hanging nine foot walls with fiftyfour inch rock and the walls are wooden framing, most have two boards running horizontal along the top. tap five or six drywall nails along the top of the sheet were they will catch that top plate and forget the screw gun save your back . use both hands get the sheet in place, stay in tight with the sheet draw your hammer from your belt and tap in the prestarted nails.Three nails is enough to hold it if they are driven properly. But get some screws in it asap. seems to save on my back hope it helps yours. Also works well with two people as well.

How is drywall properly installed in a home, the walls and ceilings in kitchens living rooms and bedrooms? Is it just nailed to the studs or does it have to have back on board behind it? But as backer

First, insulation is put in on exterior walls with specific R ratings, drywall is just screwed to studs then spackled.in bathrooms it's a little different. There's different options for material backboard that are waterproof. Some are fiberglass then are finished in resin sealant

When using the drywall screwgun

Because the tip is brand new or you don't have a magnetic ti. Try tilting the gun a little sideways before you pull it away from the screw. Sorta like tilting a sweating glass a little bit before you lift it off of a coaster so that the coaster doesn't stick to the bottom of the glass.

Paint bubbling and peeling soon after painting a newly rendered wall........how do we fix it?

Sorry for the paint peeling and bubbles. It's not the drywall tape that has bubbles... right? Paint can react like this when it is applied over a sanded wall that has not been cleaned and still has a layer of drywall dust on it. When primer is applied to the wall, it is best to use something to push the paint on the surface to combine the dust with the paint. This could be done using a paint pad but should be more than just rolled on. The paint needs to mix with the dust and stir it in with the paint so the paint get under the dust. You might try thinning the paint a little to allow for better attraction to the wall. So now how do you repair this? By scraping the loose paint off and starting with a new coat. You know. it could also just be bad paint.

Should i use the same drywall in the bathroom as in the rest of the house?

I recommend using MR (Moisture Resistant) drywall for the bathroom, and possibly for the basement if there are moisture issues. It is not much more expensive, and it can save you a big headache later

Drywall screws show

Use setting type compound for filling over screws. This compound doesn't shrink and does a better job of covering them up. Light weight compound is fine but is soft. It does shrink as it dries so you'll need maybe 3 or 4 coats to get the dimple area covered. I use setting compounds on all my second coats for this reason. This applies to tapered seams, end or surface joints and corners. You want to tape the drywall with all purpose compound that does shrink so it pulls the tape tight when dry. I use the TapeBuddy taping tools for a tight, no blister seam. Let this dry and second coat with the setting type compound and your finishing project will go much faster.

Paint bubbles on drywall

It's been almost 10 months since the question was posted so how does it look? Most bubbles appear under the drywall tape or could be from primer / paint being rolled over drywall dust. Tape bubbles don't go away. These need repaired by cutting out the bubbled tape and filling in with compound. Tape bubbles can be avoided by using a TapeBuddy taping tool. This tool applies compound directly to the tape so there are no dry spots under the tape. Hope this helps.
