The lint filter does not fit properly in the lint

We have the same model and experience the same thing. The way I fix it is to remove the filter, then with a flash light I look down into the lint trap. You will notice that lint has built up in the track where the lint filter sits. I use a wooden skewer to run along the track and lift out the lent. Hope that helps

DRYER WALL DUCT TOO SMALL / CRIMPED END OF VENT TOO BIG? What to do?

Hello HeatherGood to see you again. The outlet on the back of the dryer is 4" and the wall duct has a 4" tail. The ducting flexible hose made to fit on the outside of both. You fix with large hose clamps. It sound like you are trying to put the dryer into the wall duct? That is not the right way. You have to have hose even if it is 10" worth, that has 4" inside diameter for both the dryer and the wall duct. The new magnetic connector make thing very easy. The parts and the videos are in the linkhttps://www.google.com/search?q=DRYER+WALL+DUCT..

I'm looking for a motor (new or rebuilt) for a Vornado model 280 SS. Where can I look to find one? Is there a Vornado parts company that might have one?

Most fans like this use a fairly standard electric motor as it has to run from the mains supply. Take it to a good electric motor repairer/supplier and they should be able to find an after market motor to replace the one you have. Keep in mind how much the fan is worth to compare the cost of repair versus replacement.

How do I put my Frigidaire Dryer FEQ1442ES0 into diagnostic mode?

To put your Frigidaire Dryer FEQ1442ES0 into diagnostic mode, follow these steps:
  1. Hold down the Select and Cancel buttons at the same time for six seconds. After one buzzer sound, the two keys will be released.
  2. Press and hold the Select and Cancel keys for six seconds right away. The display will indicate "r 2" when the buzzer sounds once.
Once you've put your dryer in diagnostic mode, you may run the diagnostic test to find any problems. You can consult your dryer's operating instructions booklet if you require any more help. I hope this is useful.

Ge dryer older model belt won't get tight , idler arm not enough tension on belt, can't figure out how idler arm works . No tension

The reason for this will be that you have mis-routed the belt or that the spring on the idler arm is weak or has broken / dropped off. The idler pulley puts tension on the back edge of the belt. What made the loud noise will be the key to this. My bet is that you lost the spring or an idler arm mounting bolt.

DRYER GENERAL ELECTRIC SUPER CAPACITY. APPARENTLY

Hello,

A leading cause of poor drying results in that type of dryer is lint build up in the blower/lint filter housing. That build up will restrict air flow through the dryer causing very long dry times. To repair that the front panel would need to be removed and clean all the lint build up from that housing and blower wheel area.

To remove the front panel DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DRYER, on the bottom of the dryer inside of the door rim will be 2 phillips headed screws, remove those and lift off the top. At the top corners where the front panel connects to the cabinet will be 2 more phillips headed screws remove those and the front panel will pull off and out of the way. With the front panel off the blower housing will be in the lower left side clean lint from it and also the sure to clean all the lint from the lint filter housing which will be attached to the back side of the front panel. In addation to cleaning that area be sure to check and clean the exhaust duct tube as well.

Dryer making screeching noise

This can only be caused by a few things Belt slipping. Idler wheel tight and causing the belt to screech. A very outside change it is the rear drum bearing or motor bearings. Take the top off, put a length of plastic tub in you hand and follow the sound. There are several possible causes of a squealing dryer, including unlevel installation, damaged drum bearings, a faulty drive belt, a worn out idler pulley, a damaged roller shaft or a malfunctioning motor. Discovering the cause of your squeaky dryer can help you determine how to resolve the issue.
