Dryers - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues

1. go out to your fuse box and turn off then on the two breakers for the dryer that are barred together. Your only getting 110 volts not the full 220 volts.
2. check wall plug unplug and plug back in
3. mSpin the timer around back to start point.
Hope this helps Mike

I'm guessing the drive belt is incorrectly installed. It needs to hold the tightening pulley at tension. The belt goes down from left of drum to clockwise around the pulley them around the drive motor. Push up on pulley to install. Answer if you need more info. Only way to do this is to take it all apart again. You may be able to leave the fron roller assembly on to reach around it. Good luck.

This is normal. The belt has a hinged system that makes a differential skip every 2 seconds or so.

Go to www.repairclinic.com and enter WDL5490. With luck, you will be presented with a list of common replacement parts/assemblies and may be able to view a generic Hotpoint video showing disassembly with part/assembly identification.

Check your paper work and see what the warranty is. Take the heater back to where you purchased it from.

...E5b error. This indicates a problem with the heating element, the thermistor or the control board. You'll need to unplug the unit and access the wiring.
