Can an apartment building give you a size limit for dogs

Yes, rental is a private business and the complex has rules in place for a reason. You must consider others in the complex, not everyone likes dogs, especially large ones.

What are some symptoms that a person may encounter when they are withdrawing from chewing tobacco? My son has chewed for 25 years and is now 247 days without chew.

I don't know though I would expect some initial irritability, but I expect after 247 days that would have worn off. Saliva production might be semi-permanently altered (increased) and food is probably tasting differently... ehealth.com might be able to provide more information.

Tips for National Park Camping with your Dog

Before embarking on a camping trip with your favorite furry friend, it's important to make sure you do your research to successfully plan a trip with your dog's safety in mind. While the U.S. National Parks welcomes our four-legged companions, each park across the country has its own set of rules and restrictions. These are just a few tips to help you get organized so you can be better prepared. With adequate and careful planning, a family trip can be all inclusive to your pets and become a regular bonding experience for the whole family. 1. Pick a Location and Familiarize Yourself with the Area and Rules: While most parks welcome pets, some of them do require your pets to be on a leash that doesn't exceed six feet in length. The last thing you want to do is arrive at your destination and not have the appropriate leash to coincide with the designated leash length so carefully read park guidelines to ensure access. If your visiting a park with a beach, most parks won't allow for your dog to be on any swimming beach. Check each regulation before deciding which park is best for you. 2. Plan a Trip to the Vet: Make sure your dog is up-to-date on their vaccinations like Lepto, which will protect them from bacteria found in still water, contaminated soil, and animal waste they may be exposed to while they're running around outdoors.Make sure if that if your pet is microchipped, all of the information is correct. Lastly, make sure their animal identification bands is up-to-date, secured and fits properly so that if the worst of the worst happens and you lose your pet and he is found, he can be returned to you safely. 3. Check the Weather Before You Leave and Plan Activities: Will your destination allow you to roam around comfortably with your dog? Will it rain, or snow, and will your dog be adjusted to enjoy this type of weather while you're away? Nothing can ruin a trip more than a pet that hates rain and the sound of thunder and you're stuck on a camping trip where it's gloomy and wet and you pup is too scared to sleep or enjoy themselves. Weather doesn't affect all dogs the same, so plan accordingly to your pet and their needs so that everyone can enjoy the outdoors. Make a plan to spend time letting them exercise and play their favorite game of fetch or tug-of-war outside of walking around and exploring the trails in the area with you. 4. Packing: Always bring a copy of your pet's vaccination records because you never know if you'll need them or be asked about them while wandering around the park. Make sure to bring enough food and water to follow your dog's regular eating and dietary habits while you are away. Pack a harness and leash (or two) so that when it's required, you have them on leash and you have control of them and they're kept at a safe distance to you without totally roaming off. Don't forget the waste bags because you'll want to pick up after your dog to prevent unwanted visits from wild animals. Lastly, bring extra blankets, bedding and pillows for your dog so when it's time to wind down after a long day of exploring and walking around, they can relax and get comfortable!

MY dog ingested medication meant for another dog theophylline30mg or1/2pimobendan2.5mg how dangerous?

Hello. I had a quick scout through some search results and there is no simple answer and you really need someone experienced and qualified to give an opinion. Dosage of drugs is often decided considering the size and weight of the patient. If the dog that swallowed the medication is larger than the patient dog my personal feeling is the effects will be minimal but could be serious if the dog is smaller. The big problem is the two medications could be designed to work together and produce an effect not covered or not fully covered by the description of each ****. Sorry I can't help further. Good Luck!

My 4.3 Yorkshire Terrier is constipated, How much Lactulose 3.3 can I give him?

Surprisingly, unsweetened, canned pumpkin will do wonders to help with a constipated dog. Use a small amount from a teaspoon at first then go to a larger amount a day later. Dogs love pumpkin so getting it to eat some shouldn't be an issue. Pumpkin is a good source of fiber for them and will not hurt them. Go sparingly at first so they dont end up with diahrea.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY DOG IS CONSTIPATED

The only info I can give you is if it tries to pass stool and nothing comes out, then that might be an indicator. Do not take it lightly though. If you see bloating of any kind this could be an obstruction which is life threatening. Some breeds are actually prone to getting constipation but usually the smaller breeds. When I raised GSP, I had to put one down as she ate half a Frisbee and the obstruction caused part of her intestines to die. I always kept dried apricots around. Give the dog no more than 3 and prunes work also. I wish you luck but observe the dog closely and your vet can also call something in to **** store.
Blessings

How can I treat my dog when he has mucus in his stool

Dog stool normally contains some mucus, but excessive amount of mucus in the stool may indicate a medical condition and will need medical attention. If your dog has mucus in the stool, this is what you can expect to happen next: Medication: A small amount of mucus in the stool of a dog who is otherwise feeling fine (eating well, happy, active, no diarrhea, etc.) does not require treatment with medications, but a probiotic supplement may help. More severe cases will require medical therapy that varies with the underlying cause. Diet: Sometimes switching to a highly digestible diet or adding additional fiber to the diet will help dogs with mucus in the stool. Boiled white meat chicken (no skin or bones), white rice, and a teaspoon to a tablespoon (depending on the size of the dog) of canned pumpkin is a good, homemade option that can be safely fed for a few days. When abnormal amounts of mucus appear in a dog's stool over an extended period of time, your veterinarian will need to look for an underlying cause. He or she will collect a complete health history, perform a physical exam, and then may want to run some combination of the following tests:
  • ***** examinations
  • Blood chemistry panel
  • Complete blood cell count
  • A urinalysis
  • Abdominal x-rays
  • Endoscopy
  • Biopsy of the intestinal tract
