What does E9 error code mean on a Hisense dehumidifier?
My unit runs for a half hour and then theme dreaded E9 comes up. Then the fan runs but no buzzing from the condenser. Sounds like everyone who buys this brand has this problem !! I will try the manic press and hold the start button and hope it works.

The tank is empty but the full light stays on
The full light normally comes on when the tank is full. Emptying the tank and re-installing the tank should allow the system to reset. However, if the tank isn't pushed in all the way... the full switch and indicator light will be fooled into reporting a full condition. My suggestion is, first pull out the tank, look at the float and the tank full switch. Become familiar with these two items and confident that 1) the float is not stuck in the up position; 2) the tank full switch that the float is supposed to actuate will toggle (press your finger against it and let it return.) After this exercise make sure the tank is seated all the way in place. If your issue is mechanical, its easier to fix than if it's electrical, and if it is electronic... (just pray that it isn't).

My Danby DDR583R dehumidifier no
There are a several things that can mimic a faulty humidity sensor.
1. The air intake filter is clogged and needs to be removed and cleaned.
2. The coiling coils need to be cleaned.
3.
Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air
temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.
If the above fails to help solve the problem, replacing the Humidity Sensor is certainly an option. But, before you jump into it, make sure you have an accurate wiring diagram, so you know which sensor is which. As the part does not come with installation instructions.
I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
