Getting rid of gnats and fruit flies
If you have birds and feed them fruit clean up the old thrown away fruit immediately.
Do not let any fruit lay out...bananas, peaches, strawberrys, etc....ALL will draw the little monsters.
Don't have any open containers of orange juice, cokes, anything sweet or even water.
There are little cardboard fruit moth traps you can buy at the hardware that work quite well.
Camicide was WONDERFUL! BUT you can't find it anymore, anywhere!
Check google for organic solutions.
If you have birds, DO NOT USE ANYTHING AROUND THEM! IT WILL KILL THEM!
Will take a little time and work but you can get rid of the nasty little pests....good luck.

Cl50 now regularly makes a heavy noise while in use, even when grating cheese. Any advice?
When was the last time you preformed any internal maintenance? All heavy duty cooking/food prep equipment requires mechanical maintenance just like a car or truck as those internal motors are pretty high amperage to be able to perform under heavy loads.
There's usually some kind of access panel or port where you'll add the food grade grease/lubricant for the internals. If you've never performed any kind of maintenance you may have to take it down to the gears and wipe away the old grease/metal shavings before applying the new grease.

How much ezy sauce do I use to make plum chutney from 2kg of plums?
Chutney is very forgiving, so recipes are going to be approximate. But if you want to stick to it, you'll have to guess at the volume of the raisins, dates and carrots you're not using and add that to your 1/2 of liquid. Remember that all of those veggies have a certain amount of liquid themselves, which releases when they're cooked.

Tupperware rice cooker times please
Open the rice cooker by unclipping the locks which are on the edge of the lid. Remove the lid and pan insert.
Place the rice and water into the pan.
Replace the pan insert, ensuring that the ridged edges and handles are facing upwards.
Close the lid and lock it into position by securing the lid clips.
Place the rice cooker into a microwave and cook, on high power, for approximately seven minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow the rice to stand for a further five minutes.
Remove the lid and insert. Gently stir the rice and serve it immediately.
