I am trying to work out how old my cat is in human years, she's 19?
A cat reaches the approximate human age of 15 during its first year, then 24 at age 2. Each year thereafter, it ages approximately 4 "cat years" for every calendar year. So a 5-year-old feline would be approximately 36 in cat years. Your kitty is very old, if measured by these figures. I found this info on the Internet. Google "how can I tell how old my cat is in human years" and you'll get a lot of information. Good luck.

Why would my cat mess in the house on the furniture or carpet when there is clean litter trays available. Using the white latest in litter available.
If you have more than one cat then you must always have at least one more tray than cats and if some don't get on then make sure the victim has a tray in a location it feels safe from being disturbed. If you only have one cat then make sure you have at least two trays in different locations and make sure they are away from food bowls. Try different types, I have cats that won't use covered ones, cats that only use covered ones, cats that don't like covered ones with doors. I have cats that like to 'perch' so need a good heavy tray that won't tip if they perch on the edge. I even have one that will only use an empty tray ie nothing in it, maybe newspaper. Litter type can make a big difference; some like granular, some like clay, some like wood or paper, some like fine powder. Make it deep. Here is a tip, chicken feed pellets make a good litter and is much cheaper! Much of the above comes from the fact that cats don't like dirty trays so make sure they always have clean trays even if you must clean it several times per day and change often. Many also don't like to use a tray that others use hence the 'extra' tray suggestion if you have a few cats. With all these tips I still see the occasional mistake so my last tip is go to Tescos and buy the 'Rug Doctor' wipes. They are often beyond the tills where they rent out carpet cleaning machines. They are fantastic at removing odours and smells (I should not have to tell you that leaving the odour will attract repeat fouling) They also do a miraculous job of removing all stains.

STOP CATS WEEING IN MY HERB GARDEN
Visit your local zoo and get some lion/tiger/cheetah pooh and put some in your garden and that will stop them. Simple mirrors placed around the garden also works quite well. I use water filled lemonade bottles

My cat won't eat, can I give him Pedialyte?
Excess dry food can cause renal failure and feline leukemia is also a possibility especially if it has been in contact with feral cats or their fluids, etc.
If it is a long haired cat that grooms itself extensively it could have lost appetite due to a stuck hairball.
Some cats do lose appetite when the scent of mating is in the air and can lose weight. If your cat won't eat for several days and loses considerable weight and nothing will tempt it to eat you should take it to the vet. If it doesn't drink then take it urgently.

WHY DO CAT PYRR AND HOW DO THEY DO IT?
t's easy to assume that
cats purr because
they're happy. After all, when your
kitty contentedly curls up in your lap for some well-deserved scratches and rubs, she's obviously one happy feline. However,
cats also
purr when
they're frightened or feel threatened, such as during a visit to the vet.16 Jul 2015
