Hi, Please double check that your camera has well-charged power source and has enough memory or capacity to record new data. Since the camera was sold starting around 1995, this would be a tape. Hi, Please make sure that there is no debris within the vhs. Also, if the tape that you're attempting to play is at it's end, this might be forcing the ejection. So, you might have to attempt to rewind the tape from another vcr if possible. Please use 411, a pawn shop or your local white pages to attempt to find another vcr or camcorder to rewind that tape. If you mean just the one and the rest then it was probably recorded in Extended Play mode and nothing can be done. Otherwise please explain your issues in more detail.

Your Sony is similar to this one. This switch has 3 positions. To playback and use buttons for cassette, turn the dial to VCR or it might be called VTR.

I found this, but perhaps there is no activity at night. Check it at 1:00am, the LEDs should glow. Camera stops taking images or won't take images

Hi Jamie. this is all i could find. This is a relatively common problem and will require some dis-assembly of the camera to resolve. This is not a repair that I would recommend a homeowner attempt. Yes the tape can be saved without damage. There are a number of "safeties" built in to the mechanism to prevent potential damage to the tape and this is what is causing the current problem. The camera is detecting a problem that could potentially cause the tape to be damaged. The most common being that the camera is not detecting tape movement (rewind operation to put the tape back into the cartridge during an unload) so that it thinks that the tape is still loaded and won't release the carrier.
