Why does food burn on bottom in my accurate oven?

Hard to say. If you are baking, lift the rack one level and use parchment paper to protect it. It seems to work for me.

How can i fix dough that wont rise?

Check if yeast is old out of date, expired. When making bread most items should be at room temperature unless the recipe calls for milk to be heated to a certain temperature. Follow instructions carefully. Note the differences in Canadian and American flour you will need more American flour if you are using American flour in a Canadian recipe. When making bread the type and or brand of flour will effect the outcome , humidity also affects bread. As to the outcome of bread kneading , resting, texture are something you learn. If dough is to dry add 1 tablespoon of water at a time , if too wet add 1tablespoon flour, dough should neither be sticky or to dry , should feel like silk . Seasons change the affect of how flour works. Drafts also effect dough, when dough is left to rise it should be placed in a place away from drafts and is warm. A well greased bowl large enough so that the dough can double in size this usually takes about 1 hour don't rush this part. Dough should be greased on top so it will not stick to what it covered with. Once the dough has doubled in size punch it once done, either cut into loafs or into buns, place desired greased pans cover let rise again about one hour. Put in oven set at required temperature , set timer for 15 min, check for brownness, if it is not to your liking leave it oven for another 5 mins, bread or bun's are done when they are tapped on top and it sounds hollow take out of oven let rest in pans for about 5 min's, place cooked bread on rack and let cool, do not place on flat surface as the bottom will sweat it needs to have air flow all around it to cool properly. PS remember making of bread is a labour of love, because it lets you take out any anger while you beat and fold the dough, the dough loves you for this and it will give back to you a light and airy texture. Keep on loving.

Does anyone know how to make cake balls? I am fairly new to cooking, so I need a lot of detailed instructions.

Here is a link to a YouTube video that shows you how to make cake balls. The instructions begin with a cake that's already made but you can use a store bought cake mix and you don't need to bake one from scratch.

Is a deceased insured entitled to an insurance payout if they failed to disclose a pre-existing condition, but one which did not contribute to her ***** under South Carolina law.

If the condition existed prior to and was known by the person buying the insurance then the insurance company has excellent grounds for refusal to pay due to the non disclosure clause however that being said all insurance companies will try to avoid payout so hire a lawyer and expect to wait years for payout as the insurance will check to see how desperate you are for cash, starve you out and offer a very small settlement once they have you tired out.... get a lawyer on pay if you win condition and if he doesn't want the case and you checked 2 or more then drop it..... a lawyer will never take a case that he doesn't think he can win
.... make sure the deal is all inclusive, meaning no consultation fees as they can add up above and beyond and are delivered post haste when the money comes....oh, and expect to get 1/4 of the money because a good lawyer isn't free...but right now you have nothing and with out him or her you will not get a dime

The Secret to Making Good Pastry

If you're not a massive baker, you probably get frightened at the thought of making your own pastry. The ingredients of pastry are very basic. Flour, fat and water to bind it as a paste. But depending on the proportions of fat you use and how you incorporate it, will alter the kind of pastry you make. If you are making short crust or puff pastry, you need to keep the pastry cool or it will be hard to work with. Handling pastry if it's very hot around or your hands are sweaty will not produce good results. Pastry should be mixed quickly as it minimizes the gluten development. The more you work the pastry, the more the gluten gets activated and then pastry can become elastic and hard to roll. The same applies to making pastry in the food processor - don't overwork it. If you're making shortcrust pastry, put the dough in the fridge for 30 mins. Here's a recipe for shortcrust pastry;
  • 7 oz plain flour or all purpose flour (see tip below)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 oz butter, cubed or an equal mix of butter and lard
  • 2-3 tbsp very cold water
Put the flour and butter in a clean bowl Rub the butter into the flour using your fingertips until it resembles fine crumbs Add the cold water to the mixture until it binds. Wrap in cling film and put in the fridge for approx 30 mins.

Is it Hard to Make Your Own Bread?

Making your own bread sounds like a very labor intensive process. But with the right advice and good recipes, you'll find that it's not as hard as you thought and it tastes so much better than the preservative filled shop bought bread. Learning to bake bread can be a bit time consuming and it requires several stages in the baking process. But once you become confident, you'll be able to quickly do the steps and work your bread making around your timetable.
  1. The first step involves mixing your basic ingredients (google a basic bread recipe or ask a friend for a recommendation).
  2. Then you need to knead it for around 10 minutes, depending on the kind of loaf you are making.
  3. Then the bread needs to rise in a warm place. The yeast should help the dough to double in size.
  4. Then you punch the dough down to remove the air.
  5. You then shape the bread or rolls and allow them to rise again.
  6. Finally you can bake them.
As I said - there are lots of steps but it's totally worth it. Freshly baked bread is out of this world. Enjoy ;-)
