Little league bats go up to 33 inches in length. Anything above that is not considered "regulation."
As a pretty avid baseball player, I through about two gloves every other year. I personally think that it is better to get a stiff, strong leather glove so that you get more use out of it and mold it exactly to your hand.
The short answer is yes. They are dangerous because they shoot heavy projectiles at a minimum of 40 miles per hour. If you are using a pitching machine, it is imperative that you wear the proper protective gear such as helmet, chest and leg guards.

Most new pitching machines do come with feeders. Not all used ones do as not all used items arrive with all of their original parts.

If you ask me, it is better to get the one with a high top. This is because your ankles will be protected better since most baseball players don't wear shin guards. This will also provide better support for your ankles and help prevent sprain.
They range from $50 to $70 so I would say you should have no problem finding a great pair within that range.
I have New Balance cleats that I have been wearing for years and I absolutely love them. Most people would probably say Nike because it's a more well-known brand but I still say go with New Balance.
