Probably just needs cleaning and lubrication. Get a can of electrical contact cleaner and some sewing machine oil. Remove the daisy wheel and spray the carrier and the striker mechanism. Put two drops of oil on anything that moves or spins. I would replace the ribbon and correction tape as a matter of course. Question edited for clarity, it's a 'Brother' not your brother. ;>) That isn't the Model number, it is the Serial number. There is help here. Brother will tell you what your machine is from the serial number and will also supply a new foot control.
