I searched it but this is all i could find and this is just general info not specific to your brother machine ... there are several services that have manuals for a small charge and you might contact the Brother company and request one. or at least ask them the question .. sorry i wasn't more help my rule of thumb is one small drop here and there from time to time doesn't hurt a thing just be careful it doesn't get on your fabric https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-yJ5PjYJL8
To find the stitch count on a Brother Pacesetter PC-8500D, follow these steps:
Turn on your machine and select the embroidery design that you want to check the stitch count for.
Press the "i" button on the machine to access the information menu.
Scroll through the information menu until you see the stitch count option.
Select the stitch count option to display the total number of stitches in the embroidery design.
Note: Some embroidery designs may have multiple color changes or sections, so the stitch count may be broken down by color or section. You can navigate through these options using the arrow keys on the machine.
sounds like a bad place on the screw thread. see if the tightening screw will go all the way on without a foot in place if not then try adding a small thin washer (one that fits the screw) and see if that fixes it.
Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.
This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, try this step by step.without missing any thing. thanks

Hi,
Please restart your type writer machine before trying your procedure again. Then, please double check that pressing alt + m is a correct procedure based on your product manual. If so, and you can continue to have this issue, please reference the troubleshooting manual before sending in the type writer for repair with brother.
