This error code is often triggered when you try to sew with the Presser Foot it the UP position. Lower the foot, turn the machine off and on again. If this doesn't fix the issue the problem is probably the trigger lever inside the machine. The lever controls the cut-out switch for the presser foot. It is a common fault on Brother machines. The lever 'sticks' and doesn't turn off the safety switch. You can repair this yourself BUT you have to open up the body of the sewing machine to get to it.
