It sounds like the drain is blocked with lint or mold gel.

It is a gas dryer, it can only be fixed by a registered gas technician. The grinding noise is likely to be bearings or drum rollers. Solenoids click, gas valves work silently, or not at all. Call them out - Imm Besser.

Great post, well written and great diagnostics, but it is a Bosch, and over engineered and a secretive company as far as technical details are concerned. BUT the over-riding consideration here is that is it a GAS Dryer, and you can't work it it yourself. It can only be worked on by a register gas technician. Phone for a service call. Imm Besser.And to format for editing.add a .period between..lines

Sounds silly but if you have a hair dryer try using it and going back and forth across the glass to see if it will evaporate

OP Text edited for clarity and spelling. Moved Category from Computers to Bosch Dryers. This is how you reset. If that doesn't fix it, you will need a service call. It may need a main board, but they are expensive and should not be just changed on a guess. How to Reset a Bosch Dryer

Replacing the defective door switch could be a start although the actual problem could be a defective cycle timer.

Presumably an induction motor rather than a series wound brush type motor? A single phase induction motor needs help to get started - without help it will just buzz, though it can be started in either direction by manually giving the shaft a vigorous twist... The starting help is provided by an extra winding (start winding) that provides a phase shift to give the rotor a "kick" in the right direction and then is taken out of circuit. In the early days this was accomplished manually by a switch but later motors incorporated a centrifugal switch on the rotor shaft usually in series with a capacitor. Lots of modern motors just have the capacitor in series with the start winding resulting in a lighter, cheaper and more compact unit though the capacitor is more highly stressed and fails much more often.
