Can't close the door and finish the wash..

I'm not familiar with your model but I have a SHY66C and did the same thing. I had to open the door and remove the screws around the perimeter and take off the door skin. I then removed the screws holding the top plastic cover and took it off. You can then pry out on the metal tabs holding the hard plastic door latch and pull down on it to remove. There is a spring loaded leg on the outside that will be pointing toward you if it were in the installed postion and you are facing the door. Push in hard on the middle part of this leg until it clicks and resets the latch. Of course then just reinstall the door in reverse order. Remember that you have to put the plastic cover back on the top before putting the door skin back on.

I found a badly burned 16ga wire in the junction box of my 10+ year old Bosch SHE56C dishwasher. I can always try to replace the wire. Any ideas what caused the power draw overload?

The drying cycle pulls the most current. On most units there is a heating element in the bottom of the machine just like a stove has. Bosch does not use this technique, they have a built in heater in the water system that superheats the wash water. IT may be that nothing is wrong with your machine. When the unit was installed, there are wire nuts that are put on the supply wires in that unit and if they are not installed well, they can have an issue with overheating when the machine starts using a lot of current.

Bosch classixx dishwasher wont drain

Ive had this happen on mine too. remove the filters in the bottom. squirt washing up liquid into the space-- liberally dont be shy!Boil pans of water, boil the kettle. pour water into the space where the filters normally are. Fill the base of the dishwasher completely. Next close the door and repeatedly use the Reset feature. Eventually the pump will clear and kick back into life. Its a build up of fats, and sludge that causes the pump to appear to seize--the washing up liquid and boiling water see to that.

Error code 17

That usual means water level too high try tilting your dishwasher to one side and some water will spill and then try it again sometime the float in dishwasher is detecting water level too high if that doesn’t you may need the water flow meter that’s a big plastic usual found on the side of the dishwasher
