How do I connect a Manfrotto - 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter (Lite-Tite) to a tripod?
DeborahIf you bought the Manfrotto #026 Lite-Tite new, it should have come with (2) brass adapters..., ((1) with male 1/4-20 & 3/8-16" threads & (1) with female 1/4-20" & 3/8-16" threads). All universal photo tripods made in the last 30 years use these (2) thread sizes. All you should need to mount this unit to a tripod is the 'female' adapter spud. If you are missing this item..., it is a Manfrotto #119 adapter (available through most photo dealers).Peter
Remove 3130 head from 3021
The head is mounted on the base by a 3/8" screw. The head is held in place by 3 set screws in the base. Turn tripod upside down, loosen (or if completely removed, do not lose them) those 3 screws, turn tripod rightside up and unscrew head from tripod. If unable to turn head, loosen screws a little more. If scres are removed and heaf still not comeing off, Use pipe wrench or afjustable pliers wrapped in cloth to preven maring and loosen. (looking from top, or birds eye view, turn head counter-clockwise

Can't get it off the
These things can get on tight specially if it was factory installed. What you should be looking for is three or sometimes four set screws on the underside of the center column flange. You need to extend or remove the center column and look on the underside. You need a slot type screw driver that fits down inside the slotted thread and loose then right off I just take them out cause even a little bit of the set screw can bind it up tight while attempting to remove the head. Once these set screws have been removed lock the tripod head from moving in any direction and then remove the head by turning it, same way you would remove a bottle cap. Yes it's going to be tight but it will come off. There is a center stud in the column that you are unscrewing the tripod head from. Sometimes depending how hard it's been used or the environment the tripod was used it the head might need a little penetrating oil to help it along (a little) goes a long way. This should get that head off for you
