I have a 2004 BMW 330 ci with coolant leaking from around the left side motor mount. Is there a freeze plug in that vicinity?

It's unlikely that there is a freeze plug in that area. The most common sources of coolant leaks on BMW E46 3-Series models are the expansion tank and the radiator. However, there are a few other possibilities that could cause a leak in that area:
  1. Heater Core: The heater core is located inside the dashboard and circulates hot coolant to provide heat to the interior of the car. If the heater core is leaking, coolant can drip down onto the motor mount.
  2. Coolant Pipe: There is a coolant pipe that runs along the left side of the engine and connects the engine block to the heater core and radiator. If this pipe is corroded or damaged, it can leak coolant onto the motor mount.
  3. Head Gasket: A failing head gasket can cause coolant to leak externally from the engine. While this is less common, it's worth checking to see if there are any signs of coolant leaking from the head gasket.
It's recommended to have the coolant system inspected by a qualified mechanic to determine the source of the leak and to make the necessary repairs.

2003 BMW X5 E53. Why doesn't the CD cartridge eject?

There could be several reasons why the CD cartridge is not ejecting from your 2003 BMW X5 E53. Here are some steps you can try to get it out and potential causes of the issue:
  1. Check the CD player: First, make sure that the CD player is on and functioning properly. If the player is not working, it may not be able to eject the cartridge. Check the player for any error messages or signs of malfunction.
  2. Press the eject button: Try pressing the eject button on the CD player. If the cartridge is still not ejecting, you may need to try a different method.
  3. Use a thin object: If the eject button is not working, you can try using a thin object, such as a paperclip or needle, to press the eject button. Insert the object into the small hole near the eject button and push gently. This may release the cartridge.
  4. Check the cartridge: If the cartridge is still not ejecting, there may be a problem with the cartridge itself. Check the cartridge for any signs of damage or wear. Make sure that the CDs are properly inserted into the cartridge.
  5. Check the CD player mechanism: If the cartridge is not damaged and the CD player is functioning properly, the issue may be with the CD player mechanism. In this case, you may need to take the car to a mechanic or a BMW dealership for repair.
It's worth noting that some BMW models have a security feature that prevents the CD cartridge from ejecting if the battery has been disconnected or the car has been jump-started. If this is the case, you may need to enter a security code to unlock the CD player before you can eject the cartridge. Check your car's manual for instructions on how to enter the security code.

BMW 318 dash light not coming on

If the dashboard lights on your BMW 318 are not coming on, there could be a few potential causes. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the fuses: Locate the fuse box in your BMW 318 and check the fuse that corresponds to the dashboard lights. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one.
  2. Check the dimmer switch: The dimmer switch controls the brightness of the dashboard lights. If the switch is turned all the way down, the lights may not be visible. Make sure the switch is turned all the way up.
  3. Check the battery: If the battery is weak, it may not be providing enough power to the dashboard lights. Try jump-starting the car or charging the battery to see if this resolves the issue.
  4. Check the wiring: If the wiring that connects the dashboard lights to the battery is damaged or loose, the lights may not come on. Check the wiring and make any necessary repairs.
  5. Consult a mechanic: If none of these steps solve the issue, it may be a more complicated electrical problem that requires the expertise of a mechanic. A professional mechanic can diagnose and repair the issue to get your dashboard lights working properly again.

Fitting litefx vertical blinds

I'm sorry to hear that the fitting instructions for your LiteFX vertical blinds are unclear. Here are some general instructions that may help you with the installation process:
  1. First, you'll need to measure the width and height of the window where you want to install the blinds. Make sure to measure accurately to ensure a proper fit.
  2. Next, mount the brackets on the top of the window frame or wall. The exact placement of the brackets will depend on the type of mounting hardware that comes with your blinds.
  3. Once the brackets are in place, slide the headrail of the blinds into the brackets. Make sure the headrail is securely in place.
  4. Attach the wand control to the headrail. This will allow you to easily open and close the blinds.
  5. Finally, attach the vanes to the headrail. The exact method for attaching the vanes will depend on the type of LiteFX vertical blinds you have.
If you're still having difficulty with the installation process, I recommend contacting the manufacturer or retailer of your blinds for more specific instructions. They may also be able to provide you with additional resources, such as installation videos or diagrams, that can help you with the process.

Replace Kill Switch 1150 GS

The kill switch on a BMW R1150GS motorcycle is designed to immediately shut off the engine in case of an emergency or accident. If you need to replace the kill switch on your R1150GS, you can follow these general steps:
  1. Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical hazards.
  2. Remove the handlebar grip on the side where the kill switch is located. You can do this by loosening the screws that hold it in place and gently pulling it off.
  3. Locate the kill switch module on the handlebar and disconnect the wiring harness from the switch. Depending on the year and model of your R1150GS, you may need to remove the switch from the module by using a screwdriver or Allen wrench to remove any screws or bolts that hold it in place.
  4. Install the new kill switch by reversing the steps used to remove the old one. Connect the wiring harness to the switch and secure the switch to the handlebar or switch module using screws or bolts.
  5. Test the new kill switch to make sure it works properly by reconnecting the battery and starting the engine.
It is important to note that these steps may vary depending on the specific year and model of your R1150GS. If you are unsure about how to replace the kill switch or are not comfortable doing so yourself, it is recommended that you take your motorcycle to a professional mechanic or BMW dealership for assistance.

Where is fill to add automatic trans fluid to 2008 BMW 650i under the hood?

The automatic transmission fluid fill location on a 2008 BMW 650i can vary depending on the specific model and transmission type, but generally it is located under the hood and accessed through a dipstick tube.

To locate the dipstick tube for the automatic transmission fluid, follow these steps:

1. Open the hood of the vehicle and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. The dipstick handle is usually yellow, red, or black and is labeled with "ATF" or "trans."
2. Remove the dipstick from the tube and wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
3. Reinsert the dipstick all the way back into the tube and then remove it again. The fluid level on the dipstick should indicate the current level of transmission fluid.
4. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add automatic transmission fluid. To add fluid, remove the dipstick and use a funnel to pour the fluid into the dipstick tube. Be sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid specified in your owner's manual.
5. Check the fluid level again with the dipstick to make sure it is at the correct level. Add more fluid as needed.

Note: It is important to follow the recommended procedure for checking and adding transmission fluid to your BMW 650i to avoid overfilling the system, which can cause damage to the transmission. If you are unsure about the location of the dipstick or how to properly add fluid, consult your owner's manual or a qualified mechanic for assistance.

BMW F10 528I, no audio, display says "no warning chime"

If you are experiencing a no audio issue and the display says "no warning chime" in your BMW F10 528i, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the audio source: Make sure that the audio source, such as the radio, CD player, or Bluetooth device, is playing and sending a signal to the car's audio system.
  2. Check the volume: Make sure that the volume is turned up to an appropriate level and not muted.
  3. Check the audio settings: The BMW F10 528i has a few audio settings that can affect the sound output. Check the settings to ensure that the audio is not muted or turned off.
  4. Check the warning chime setting: The "no warning chime" message may indicate that the warning chime feature is turned off. Check the settings to ensure that the warning chime is turned on.
  5. Check the fuses: The audio system in your BMW F10 528i may be powered by a fuse that has blown. Check the fuses related to the audio system to see if any have blown. Replace any blown fuses with ones of the same rating.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the amplifier or speakers in the car's audio system. In this case, it may be necessary to take the car to a professional for repair or maintenance.

My BMW has a no key symbol and my window went downHELP

If you are seeing a "no key" symbol on your BMW's dashboard and your window went down, it could indicate a problem with the key or the vehicle's anti-theft system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the key battery: A low battery in your key fob can cause communication issues with the vehicle, leading to the "no key" symbol. Replace the battery in your key fob and try starting the car again.
  2. Try a spare key: If you have a spare key, try using it to start the car. If the spare key works, then the issue is likely with the original key fob, and you may need to have it reprogrammed or replaced.
  3. Check for interference: Sometimes, other electronic devices or signals can interfere with the key's communication with the car. Move away from any potential sources of interference, such as cell phones or other electronic devices, and try starting the car again.
  4. Check the fuse: If your window is not responding, it may be related to a blown fuse. Check the vehicle's fuse box and replace any blown fuses.
  5. Contact a professional: If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact a professional mechanic or BMW dealership for further diagnosis and repair.
It's important to address this issue promptly as it can leave your car vulnerable to theft (obviously). Hope that helps!!!

2002 Xi. Has bank 1 & 2 fuel trim control limit codes but why does it show 0 on short and long term fuel trim?

it means the 02 sensors are dead. (them or worse) 62 seems way way too high , the service manual tell you spec on this keyon,, idle and WOT, pressure spec, only that matters as does injector leakdown tests and injector balance tests. learn this the O2 sensors can only do a fine tune on fuel. if there are exhaust leaks, o2 lie if there are stuck head valves 02 lie (each slug of air does that) gross misfiring, P017x codes trim error.s that means the PCM can not do trim at all. the engine hot is not in closed loop as it must be. for this above reasons. no vin told no country told no full engine spec name told at all no service manual to read for sure injection and pressure test. and FPR tests for proper regulation at all engine loads. cant be done blind, zero books./ 5 engine there are for 325i no 325XI, 2.5L engine gas. the new FPR page shows 51PSI not not 62 FPR has 4 nippples n it, 2 for fuel and 1 vacuum it seems if I am right on this FPR, there are 3 pressures to test, keyon, idle and WOT vacuum in the plenum does that and is engine load. at key on and wot psi is highes and idle lowest. and is in the manual and my one line BMW pages stinks to high heaven. zero FPRR chapters there, sadly here is fprif vac hose 4 falls off PSI is max. due to vac MIN>port 1,2,3 , one is pump input, one is to rails and one is return to tank line my best guess. which one is which IDK. rail pressure is what matters, key on pressure is highest and idle is lowest.if not fuel trim fails hard. no 02 can cure insane high fuel pressure. the PSI drop is about 5psi.sorry i do not have the real service manuals5 psi less than atmospheric pressure (keyon) also called "constant differential pressure" on the injector and FPR does that magic. on newer cars have FPR sensor and can correct pump or FPR errors. but not yours.fpr-undefined-undefined-0.jpg

2004 bmw 318 ti cranks, buT won't start!

I have two ideas on this. Have you disconnected the battery or had it drain flat recently? It may be the anti-theft immobilizer, and needs resetting. Having said that, the second video shows how to reset all the modules and it just starts right up! https://www.google.com/search?q=2004+bmw+318+reset+security+system Or the fuel pump isn't creating enough pressure. You can test with a gauge borrowed from Autozone..

2012 BMW 535i losing all my water but not overheating?

If your 2012 BMW 535i is losing all of its water but not overheating, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. Leak in the coolant system: The coolant system of your car may have a leak, which is allowing the water to escape. This could be caused by a faulty radiator, a leaking hose or a cracked engine block.
  2. Evaporative loss: In some cases, the water may be evaporating due to high temperatures. This is common when driving in hot weather, and it can be caused by a malfunctioning pressure cap or a faulty radiator cap.
  3. Leak in the water pump: The water pump may be leaking, causing the water to escape from the coolant system.
  4. Leak in the head gasket: A leak in the head gasket can allow coolant to leak into the engine oil, causing the water to disappear.
