Car will not crank. Lights & radio all work.
First thing I would do is get under the car and hit the starter with a hammer, not with everything you have, but not too gently either. The brushes in the starter are usually the culprit. So tap it two or three times medium hits, then try to start it. If it starts, you need a new starter. Keep the hammer handy, so you dont get stuck. Make sure when you do hit the starter, you hit the body of it and not the wiring/electrical connections, this would break them beyond repair and possibly beyond rebuild condition too. Good luck!

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your BMW service centre and get them to enter this code for you.
