Unless you have changed many watch batteries you could end up scratching the watch, damageing the crystal etc. anyway, the battery is good for a year so why take the chance on hurting the watch.

mcdevito75 here, Yes and No, While any sharp, sudden, or very hard motion of your hand, wrist or arm can hurt a watch, it seldom does, most of the time you"d have to actually bang the watch against a hard surface, Wall, Floor etc to effct the movement, and usually you just scratch the crystal or caseing. .

A number of possible reasons. If it is old then needs a good cleaning and proper lubrication. If it ever got moisture inside then water could have cause some damage. If very old then mainspring could be getting tired and needs to be replaced. Also possible damage to the hairspring from various reasons. Sounds an expensive watch so take it to a good repair shiop

take it to a jewler or watch mender cost £3 pounds to shorten i advese not to do it your self they have the tools to do it

Does the dial have "Automatic" wtitten on it". If it does then it's a mechanical movement. If it has "Quartz" then it requires a battery. If the watch isn't running perhaps it just needs a battery. This may also explain why the pushers aren't working. If it's mechanical the watch needs to be wound before the pushers will work. What are the markings on the subdial.

Looking at your watch it looks like the clasp on the SS model is just a double deployant preasure fit. If it is brand new sometimes these style of deployants are vary tight.

It is Stainless Steel it is vary difficult to break it looking at the construction of the bracelet.

Basically you just Pull, there is no button it is just pressure fit.
