Either turn off your current antivirus with Task manager\ Processes... or if that's not working just copy data to another storage device and re-install OS.

What is it
Hello
Avira is an antivirus program. I am going to assume that the problem is either that your subscription is up or that you may actually have a virus.
If you do not want to pay to renew your subscription. Avast, and avg are popular which have free, and full versions.

If you do decide to install a new antivirus suite, uninstall Avira first using windows add/remove programs.
If you believe you currently have a virus problem feel free to use an online virus scanner such as House Call. Although this is a great tool, it is not live protecting, it will only scan when you choose to use it.

Also it is always a good idea to use a malware removal program, I prefer using adaware, it offers live protection where as many free alternatives do not.

To download the program follow the steps outlined below.
Start Windows in SAFE MODE by tapping the F8 key as soon as you turn power on, and selecting "Safe Mode with Networking" from the menu.
NOTE: If you cannot this software download, it's probably because a virus has control of your operating system. In that case you will have obtain the services of a PC Technician.
Open your browser, and Click on the above link to go to the Techspot website.
Scroll down to the box labeled "Search Downloads" and enter "Malwarebytes" in the box. Then Click on Submit.

and click on that link

NOTE: If you get an error message, repeat steps 2 - 6 above.
Another "Security" box will open - Click on "Run" again.

Finally, another Setup box will ask you to confirm your installation choices. Click on "Install"
