Hello, Wjmecca -
I hope I am correct in understanding you are referring to a smart phone. If so . . .
You will find the manual (PDF format) here:
http://images.comparecellular.com/phones/171/audiovox-thera-pda2032-user-guide.pdf
Note: It is 154 pages long.
You will need Adobe Reader software (free) to download the manual, save it (to a computer file, which I recommend you name: Auidovox Smartphone, or something like it so you can find the document easily), and print it for easy reference.
If you do not know how to do that or if your AT&T GoPhone is your only access to the Internet, then seek the help of a relative or a good friend with Internet access, a computer, and a printer.

sounds to me like the phone was built for Verizon and programed for them. You might not be able to change that. Call the 800 number.Good luck

Not necessarily. If you very carefully open up the upper dark portion of the back of the phone (where the antenna extension is), you'll see that the antenna of the phone is actually a metal track which winds around the back of the headplate.
Check to make sure the two prongs which touch this headplate can do so without any problems. If the internal antenna is corroded, it may need to be replaced.
Most cellphones have varying antenna power, so you can expect to see differences when comparing two cellphones side by side. If you find your phone has no signal mostly when driving, check out this link: http://www.cellantenna.com/Boosters/cellphone_signal_boosters.htm
I hope this helps.
Take care,
Rob Kendrick
