try this on start up get into the bios set up, click on the boot up tab and set the hard drive as first boot followed by and cd or usb stick setting make sure that you save and changes before exiting

Sounds like a bad battery if it works normally when it's plugged in.

ever think to ask asus this>? my guess the goal is to have only external USB mouse working? The touch pad like all touch pads have driver, that matches your unstated OS. some touch pads have feature that is called. Auto turn off, if other mouse detected. what you have there for a driver, as anyones guess. nor upgrades, on my laptop I got an upgrade to that pad driver that added this feature, (new) lacking this feature there are only 2 fixes. so learn to device manager, click the pad driver there and pick disable device. this kills the pad dead. or open up PC and unplug the pad wire cable. there i have covered all 3 ways to do this. again, NO OS stated at all is it running windows? if yes, click control panel,click system and bingo for what OS this is, windows 7,8 and 10 is best.

IDK, no full model stated accurately. so that does not matter, the battery must be pulled. 2: now run on AC pack only, does its turn ON now. and show at LEAST text to the screen,, yes good, battery is NOT. no, next up is. 3: HDD spins, put ear to hdd casing, here it spin up turned on.? yes, good, no bad hdd or fully dead. 4: fan, fan is next even first. it must spin, it must blow and be heard to spin, or blow. if not that means PC has no power. try a new power pack AC. the cheapest test and cost to fix any PC is a new power pack. 1/10th of 1 hours shop labor alone. in shop we can test the power pack but you dont have a voltmeter to do that. also do the long reset remove the AC pack push power for 30 seconds, hold it and release the button. now AC pack back on the PC and turn it on now. learn how to remove the battery. they can short and if do, bad deal.

ASUS has 1000 of PC. from 1995 to 2018, must we guess, ? be silly to. but del was common long ago. mine is ESC, the screen prompts you , the setup key every day. look and see that? here is an X544 PC. (windows 8.1 new 4 years old) the manual on this (random PC) from Asus, is F2. power on hammer F2 it should even prompt this. hit F2 to enter setup.

hello. why not just go to asus.com and get it. we are not them,we have no books, no drivers, zero install disks, NADA here. zippo. all can do is point to the obvious. them. you posted a card, with no PC stated, nor OS.why make this so hard? it is relic AGP card, nobody today runs AGP PCs. they are long ago history. ok? so finding driver for AGP cards, for w10 is like super hard. lets try now. i went to asus.com for you it shows no support for that card in the Nvidia series,https://www.asus.com/us/support/Download-Center/ NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 (true series name) off your data sheet. it says. so now we go to Nvidia.com. ok im there and there supported ended at XP sorry click legacy click MX https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us there is no such driver. sure lots of scalpers or malware sites promising lies. sure.

Hi, It seems like you had a problem with your flexy cable. Try to check your screen flexy cable, sometimes it slips on its hinge and sometimes wears.

ok , what OS came on this new? for sure dont use w8, as the wifi engine it it is JUNK totally junk from MS.com i see Asus offered a free w10 upgrade, google searched 1st hit. says clear as day, not all features work, if done why not just leave it at w7 ? 1st and always, connect the PC directly from PC ethernet jack cable to router now the web works, and now the magic PNP works microsoft plug and play works, so does that cure the dead wifi chip? i can not know what chip is inside your PC for wifi, as the makers uses like 5 kinds even on one model. I would do a factory reset.

Could be multiple things ranging from bad screen, bad cable connecting the screen to the motherboard, bad motherboard, or many other things. More information would be required to properly diagnose this is.

Need new keyboard

ok my PC in south american beach house.has no @ keynor do any of their internet cafe'sspanish keyboard, has non.so we use the alt 64 tricksee next post for that.but the kboard needs a right side keypad to do thatif not ouch get one, usb and plug it in.'the top row of numbers on a keyboard can notdo the 6 4 strokes, only a working keypad right side. I can not see you PC. nor country sold. so can not be more accurate.this trick is from IBM, the first PCs did this too.Thanks to IBM. (and the complex scan coded keyboard)
