Why won't my computer boot up?

does not sound easy . Try holding power button in for 30 seconds and then try normal power up. Is the AC adapter plugged into laptop it may have a flat battery. If the Ac to DC adapter is failing to charge the battery this could cause a flat laptop battery and cause the symptoms you are experiencing.

Last week I had a new motherboard installed on my Asus Q500A laptop. When I got it back the keyboard backlights no longer worked. This wasn't a problem before I sent it out for repair.

This issue is caused by the BIOS being changed. Here is a post about it in the ASUS forum: This fixes the issue in this one case : '7C' replaced by 'FF' in the EEPROM http://pcaudio.org/stuff/G73JhFixKBLights.rar make a usb boot drive, set your bios so flash drive comes first at start up, put bt.exe and fixmykb.bat to the usb key, run fixmykb.bat Asus computers with a backlit keyboard come with the flag '7C' written in the cnfg page of the EEPROM. It's a small sticky memory on the motherboard. Apart from the BIOS. The flag address is cnfg DD (and not 27 as written in many forums) It seems, again reading forums from all over the world, that not all Asus RMA centers know that ! Some replaced, the keyboard, the mother board (!), send the computer back without fixing it, but in most cases, fixed it without any explanation. For months now, ASUS does not release a patch. A very simple app from windows could write this back to EEPROM. But here's the Asus problem : one flag in this eeprom (27) tells windows installer what version (like pro or ultimate edition) of windows to install... So may be some guys over there just dont want the BT.exe utility to be spread around. In most cases, if you flashed the latest BIOS available, the latest ATK drivers and have your back lite keyboard not working, this fix will give the light back to you ! At last, some few users had the keyboard power ribbon unplugged. Before doing the hardware work to pull it out and risk damaging this fragile plastic stuff, try this fix. WORKS ON G73 and U80V (just beginning the list). Brings also the light back to U80V illuminated trackpad.

Asus transformer book t100ta no power when on/off button push red led steady then flickers (3 times ??)

Initially I would try pressing the on/off button for about 10 secs, and then releasing. This will ensure the tablet is turned off completely and not just in sleep mode. Check that the charger is connected properly and the tablet correctly seated in the dock and after 5 mins press the on/off button to turn the machine on. If this does not work turn the machine completely off as before, again wait 5 minutes and then turn on. During this bot process hold down the <F9> key to enter the "Choose an Option" screen and tap troubleshoot and then read the options and tap the option you wish to use. You can find more detail about this and other troubleshooting by going here: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/T100TA/0409_E8713_B.pdf downloading and saving the pdf document on another computer for future reference. The troubleshooting chapter starts on page 70. Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya Cheers

Reset bios password on asus k550lc

There is a coin cell battery on the motherboard. Remove it and short the + and - tabs with a paper clip for about 3 or longer minutes. Doing this discharges a capacitor that holds the information for a time if you ever need to replace the battery. Once the time has passed, put the battery back and boot the PC.
