Asko Washer/Dryer (WCAM 1812); Dryer not working.

Update: The dry cycle is now working! Apparently the automatic overload/shut off on the heating element got tripped. We had a technician out this morning. He unplugged the machine, removed the top of the unit, and simply pushed a little red/orange button that was on top of the heating element. When we plugged it back in the heating element worked again. The technician was able to troubleshoot this by checking the amps while running the dry cycle. But the proof was really when we did a load and the machine heated up (just like it used to) during the dry cycle. This was actually a relatively simply fix - though could be dangerous as you have to open up the electrical area. The reset button is rather inconspicuous and located on top of the heating element, which is long (runs front to back in the center part of the top of the machine - which you can get to by removing the lid/top outer housing) and silver - wrapped in insulation. It's pretty obvious. The button is in a little metal fixture on top of the heating element. The technician told us that the rest can get tripped when the unit overheats. (We think this happened when the laundry tub overfilled and the hose was totally submerged - the machine was working overtime to pump out the water.) The technician also warned that this can happen if the machine gets turned off suddenly mid-cycle - especially during the drying cycle. He said that the heating element gets so hot, it needs to have a gentle cool down period, which is marked on the dryer dial for the last 20 minutes of the cycle. I hope this helps others!

Asko W6441 front load washer, error code F2. Motor and motor control board replaced and still get F2 error code. Drain pump measures 75.3 resistance so it should be good. Need help to continue.

I am in Australia so my comment relates to that OZ power supply. The first thing I’d do would be to check the pump to eliminate it as the problem. To do that I’d disconnect at the supply end of the pump’s electric cable and make up a 3 pin plug patch lead and supply power to the pump directly through an RCD protected outlet, and see if the pump works independently of the control board. That would confirm the pump is ok and not going to earth (which would trip the RCD.)
Do the water inlet solenoids come off that board? Because if they are, and are mains voltage, check them the same way. Check everything that comes off that board at the appropriate voltage independently.
There will be temp and water flow and drum-wobble sensors which will be low voltage and all need to be independently checked at the right voltage for each to eliminate them as the problem.
A digital multimeter checking the sensors probably won’t do any damage (blow them up).
Visually check the board visually for any burnt or blown components. Some boards have a thermal fuse in the circuit.
Asko should be able to supply the circuit for the board and it’s values. NZ Govt has legislation that compels Asko to provide this info. We got a new board from Asko NZ by post.

I have an Asko 6011 which I haven't used for a couple of years. I cant remember what each of the buttons on the front of the machine means. Can I get a copy of the instructions to do the wash I want?

Apparently it is as much as a 16 year old model, and I could not locate instructions for that model, using https www.google.com. There was a site with parts, however, but not a manual.A similar model manual, for W6021, shows controls that may be similar.https://www.manualslib.com/manual/396407/Asko-W6021.html

I have an old Asko 10505 washer. The water intake doesn't shut off after passing 3 on the dial. Is this likely to be a faulty cold water inlet valve or could the problem be something else?

It could be a faulty water inlet valve, but it could also be a blocked tube between the tub, and the water level pressure switch, because over time, this can become blocked, and affect how much water enters the machine. An easy test is to put the machine on a fill cycle and then turn of the mains power to the machine as the machine begins to fill; if the machine continues to fill, it is probably the water valve; if not, check the tube from the tub to the pressure switch. I hope this helps?

Have an ASKO W6864 that beeps once every few minutes, and ASKO reckon they have never heard of one of their front loaders doing this. Frustrating as it does it 24/7 even when we unplug it over night

If the main PCB is still pulsing the "beeper" even when unplugged, it would be the on board capacitors still charging it. Apart from changing the main PCB, I would suggest you leave it unplugged for as long as necessary to fully power down the capacitors. It will take a few hours or more. Try using the machine when it has stopped beeping. It may then be OK. If not, a board replacement will be the only solution.

I had the F3 error code on Asko front load washer. I pulled the coin trap (which I never knew existed) and found a handful of change, paper clips,.a screw, and a couple random plastic doo hickeys. I replaced the filter back into it's original position, twisting to the right. Upon running the next load, water started gushing water from the pump door. Any suggestions?

Hi Jacqueline, the filter will usually have a rubber o-ring gasket to seal the opening to prevent leaks. When you cleaned it,the gasket may have kinked, torn or popped out of the groove that holds it in place. Open the filter and check if the gasket is in place, if not slide it back into the groove and that should stop it from leaking. Also check the small drain hose, make sure the stopper is in. That should take care of any leaks in that area. If the leak continues I would suggest calling a local repair company. Hope that helps.

Asko 12005 washing machine vibrates and banging on side when spinning

The load has become unbalanced. Pause the machine in mid-cycle (do not Stop it) and when it ceases spinning, open it and re-distribute the load evenly. Then press Pause again to continue the cycle. Note: if you Stop it, then restart when finished balancing, the machine will start washing from the beginning instead of continuing from where you Paused it.
