Sounds like it was starving for fuel. First thing to do is check your fuel pump pressure with a gauge. Try sprayinf a little starting fluid into the throttle body to see if it will start. If it does, then you know its a fuel problem.

Spark Plugs are screwed into the Top of the Head. Do not over tighten, applying anti-sieze will not hurt but normally will not be an issue to begin with.

You will need to make the fuel pump work to put fue back into the full system,make sure battery is fully charged

Make sure it is not stuck. Spray some cleaner into the throttle. Make sure the cable is returning all the way.

sounds like the jump starter is supplying regulated power to the spark generator/distributor, without this smoothed power the alternator is feeding unregulated to it.... placing a good battery across the terminals after jump starting should prevent this mis-firing fault.

Most cat modles are located in the fuel tank.

Look up the part on the internet and see if it is the same part # on both years.

Make sure your drive clutch is disengaging all the way.

Check belt tension tighten then check the belt tensioner if it has one what kind of car?

In the center of the clutch there's a hole with a bolt a ways in usually 12mm or 1/2 inch 16 point socket on a long exstention find the right size then use a wooden handle of hammer or something to put throw the clutch to hold it from turning when taking the bolt out after that you need the proper puller to take the clutch off leave hammer in turn in puller tell nice and tight if it hasn't already popped off hit the end of the puller with a hammer 4-5 times if not off tighien it some more and repeat it will come with some more hits on the puller when its good and tight good luck

There's a number of things it can be first check throttle switch bypass all switches at the base it it still bog stator

carburator dirty from ethanol gas--put a cleaner like BG, amsoil quik shot or lucas to clean gum--or disasemble and rebuild if need-----use pure gasoline like outboard motors use----and dont store machine without draining tank

Sounds like your stator plate is getting weak.Do an ohms test on it hot then cold.

Sounds like dirt in the tank and or pick up screen.
